Opinions on my potential wheel set-up 35-12.5-22 w/ OEM 22s

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Looking at different wheel/tire setups for my future 2020 AT4.

Although I understand this might not be everyone's cut of tea... i was curious if you gentlemen thought this setup looks ok.

Personally i'm really feeling it, but nothings in stone.

I drive on some forest roads around my cabin but  don't really do anything serious.  Not worried about MPG, road noise, anything like that...

Potential Set-up

-GMC OEM 5-Spilt-Spoke Gloss Black 22" x 9" Wheels

-Nitto Ridge Grapplers 35-12.5-22 tires (34.6 inches actual)

-More than likely will have to get a front level kit.

Bellow are the only pics i've been able to find that spot on with my combo... minus the Toyos this guy used.

good or bad, let me know what you think!

Thanks guys

Pete

Also... i had the Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my wranglers... they are a game changer.... best truck tire i've every hands down.

Just as a note, during my research for guys running similar setups and just my own good... i notice Lots of folks running a 33 tire.  I looked at 3000 pictures an for the most part, a 33 inch tire on a 22 inch rim, combined with lifted truck with huge fender cutouts looked odd.  I wanted a big ass tire that looked aggressive and would fit the wheel well.

-I think with the AT4's 2 inch lift and the ever increasing wheel well size of most modern cars and trucks i can get a 35 (34.6) tire in there that looks good and fills things out.

-ANY Vehicle that has wheels and tires stinking 5+ inches outside of the fender is not a good look.

I want the setup to be basically flush with the fender.  The fairly narrow OEM GMC 22s are only 9 inches wide and have a conservative offset.  This was critical and i wouldn't have moved forward unless i could find a set that fits properly.

Anyways, here is  rig with 33 TIRES.  I think the larger tires above, tucked in the wheels well looks better.  I dislike the large gap between the tore and wheel well.  Plus i want another 2 inches of running around that rim, i drive hard and on shit roads.

Sorry not sure

so after some measurements. The 35-12.5-22 is too wide and will require trimming for gmc models..  it does fit on the chevy...

So....Going with a 285-55-22, just as tall, just not as wide.

can you tell me what the set up on the blue rst is. I have the same wheel and trying to figure out whether to do a small lift or a level and what tire size and that beast looks perfect.

Any more pictures?  Would love this set up for my white AT4.

How bad of a mpg hit did you take?
