torque converter shudder fix result in fender damage

Have any customers , techs, or dealers had damage to the fender from the special tool that gm gives you to hold/jack up the engine for removal of the starter. We had one and we had to jack it up to remove the mount and we were no where close to having enough room and the little bit we did jack up bent the drivers side fender and GM claims the have never heard of this.
