No towing mirrors for the 2019 Silverado or Sierra 1500's.

I just found out that the accessory trailer mirror, (RPO code S4Z) for the new 2020my mirror will not work on our 2019my truck.  It will bolt up but the electrical harness is different so it will not have power.  This looks like a job for Phil Gamboa.

 

I don't understand how they can do this.  The only difference to me is the physical part of the mirror, why would the electrical connection have to change?

 

So we can get the mirror but it will be a mechanical one which doesn't work for me when backing into the garage parking to fold so nobody hits them.
