Detailing products

Recommended Posts

I was recently introduced to Optimum car care products. I have a buddy that is a detailer that  told me about the products a while back and I just passed it off as another set of detailing product.  I decided to give their Polymer no wash and Opti-seal a try. These are probably the best products I've used in 25 years of amateur  detailing. They are a total game changer in terms of time reduction and quality of wash.  I was highly skeptical that a no-wash product could give me a result on par with my foam canon and two bucket method. Im ridiculously picky about washing and scratching my vehicle.

The no wash system takes me about 20 minutes to wash the entire truck and the sealant takes me about the same time. I can wash and wax/sealant my car in about 40 minutes which is less time than a normal wash used to take me..... Im completely sold and wont ever go back. If you want to drastically reduce the time required to wash your truck and improve the result, try them out

I use the "Gary Dean" method for the wash (well known youtube detailer)

Put one ounce of product in a bucket

Pour one gallon of distilled water in bucket

Soak four or five chamois

Use quarters of chamois to wash car (Chamois never goes back in bucket)

Use a quarter of the fresh chamois to dry the section you washed

Keep rotating quarters of the section every panel for the wash and dry chamois

Looks like it would work ok depending on your level of dirt and color of vehicle.. There is no way I’d ever use it on my black truck.  Learned my lesson years ago.

I 100% agree that I wouldnt use it on a very dirty vehicle. I was VERY skeptical about the product and using it as a maintenance product. I watched a bunch of youtube videos in which they used detail lights and even a microscope to determine if the product would scratch. The videos convinced me and I cant recommend it enough. The washing process is so fast that I literally decided to wash my truck prior to going out for dinner. I had the entire truck washed and got ready for dinner in about 45 minutes. It would take me that much time to get ready  to wash the car in the past...

The opti-seal (the synthetic wax) is better than the high end natural wax I was using. I waxed my truck and used the Opti-Seal on my wifes Tahoe. The difference is staggering and the Opti-Seal is much better. In addition it literally takes me a 1/10th of the time to use the Opti-Seal.

Optimum has great products, been using power clean for many years. Their ONR is a nice product as well. I’m kinda partial to the waterless wash method, maybe for classic cars or something that sits in the garage forever. I will stick to foam/ph balanced water/soap 2 bucket method. Last thing you wanna do is screw up the wash which imo is the most crucial. A poor wash will ruin a nice corrected finish in no time.

Meh....  I wash my truck when it's dirty and needs it.    No washless products for me.

Agreed. Wash less or waterless wash stuff is horrible. It's bad and will scratch your clear coat
