How does the radio manage multiple Bluetooth connections?

Recommended Posts

Hi, my new job comes with a brand new phone. Unfortunately it's an iPhone. My personal phone is an Android and I'm not getting rid of it. How does the radio in the truck manage connections to multiple Bluetooth devices simultaneously? Anyone have experience with something similar?

Yep. You can connect both but only 1 will work at a time. You go into the phone menu to swap between them like if you have to take/make a call. I also have a work phone and have to do this.

My question about this...Can you set which phone has priority to connect if both phones are present?  My old Ram truck could do that...I thought it was handy.

Amazing what you find by reading the manual.   :D

I know, right? It's even easier nowadays with .pdf versions...just hit Ctrl+F and search away...

Yes, but the manual will not tell you if there are work arounds or other real world examples of things you can do to alleviate the issue.  Though it is the first thing to check, it’s not as fun as talking to your buddies on the forum.

  • 1 year later...

My wife and I run both of our phones, mine via USB and hers via Bluetooth.  We do the same thing in her MB.  Front seats are the only ones that my wife and I allow to connect to the radio.  The ONLY exception to this rule, is when those in the front seats want to listen to the movie that the back seats are watching.
