I can afford a tractor, not worth it for the occasional use. Plus don't need another thing to maintain.

I had a tractor for about ten years. Cost me about $24k with loader, mower, and front-mount snow thrower. Ended up selling to snow thrower (didn't use it) for $3k and then sold the tractor in the end for $16,500. $4500 depreciation for me over a ten year span.

Maintenance was easy and inexpensive (for me) and the machine had very low hours when I sold it. Biggest issue I had to content with was storage as I lost my entire garage bay (which was a 26' deep bay and the deeper side of the garage).

We got 10 more inches yesterday. Plowed twice yesterday because it's easier moving less snow. 4 degrees this morning.

We have had at least 35 inches in 8 days, maybe more. Our road hasn't been plowed yet to remove the 10 inches from yesterday.

We are having a cold front push through with about an inch to three inches of rain. Wind will come out of the north with morning temperatures getting into the 30s. 🥶

That county is overloaded sounds like. We have a land owners association manage the roads. One of our AWD graders is down so they are running behind. Repairs will cost > $100,000 for trans and maybe differential work. Dreaded clutches on CAT 140M it has > 6000 hrs on it.

That’s why we line item each piece of equipment for replacement. Smart outfit here. Lowest HOA fees I’ve ever seen before.
15,000 acres and 200 miles of rock and sand roads at 8500-11000’.
