Jingle jingle underneath only in 2wd

Recommended Posts

I've got a High Country with 15K and change on the odometer and the SU4 front axle and have not heard a peep.

I've gone under the truck and there is the slop/play where the axle goes into the diff (just like the video in the beginning of this thread) but no noise.

I've been following this thread simply because I don't think that slop should be there and can't be good for the longevity of the drivetrain despite the assurances from GM.

Same as you except I’m only at 4100 miles. The CV shaft play is present at the axle but I have no noise either.

The amount of play is small but I agree, I don’t think it should be there either.

For the people having the noise problem, it does go away when 4WD is activated. So I wonder if the play exists when the shafts are engaged.

I just checked too and at first thought no play but shook a bit harder and its very small but play is there - in and out - up and down.  I have a 19 LT TB Fort Wayne SU4  7/22/19 with 600 miles and absolutely no noise yet.  Guess I'll keep watching and hopefully a permanent GM fix in the works for current and future jingle events.

Per my past posts from pages ago, I’ve checked about 10 other trucks on the dealer lot, LTZ, LT, RST, TB and they all had the same small amount of play. Even the SU5 GM axles had the same amount of play and they are not even affected.

I’m thinking about going to crawl under a few Rams, F-150s, Tundra on the lot and see what their CV shafts are like.

My truck goes in on Monday. Don’t know how long it’s going to be there for and unfortunately I may not be doing much driving due to a recent injury. Fingers crossed all goes well and I’ll definitely keep you guys posted. Funny thing happened today. My radio has issues with going black or getting stuck in night mode when it’s daytime(radio replaced and still same issues). Anyway, the touch screen became totally unresponsive. Tried shutting the truck off and restarting. Nothing. After driving for ten minutes or so and pressing the screen a thousand time a screen popped up that said if your a passenger to accept or decline(something to that effect) came up and it suddenly became responsive again. Very strange but not surprising. Sorry for going off topic. Anyone else had this issue?

Similar thing happened to me recently. Screen froze, I tried pressing different buttons and nothing. Then screen went completely black. Shut truck off and then on, nothing. Turned truck off, went to the store, came back 20 minutes later turned on truck and everything started working again like nothing happened. Weird
