If I grab the shaft, I am able to move it forward and back about an inch. Is this not supposed to happen?

If you mean in and out - towards the wheel and front differential, no it shouldn’t move.

Sorry for the background fan noise. It's hot as hell in Vegas lol

This is what I am referring to, but as you can see, it's not making any noise at all.

Wrong shaft. The noise comes from the drivers axle shaft that’s behind the wheel.  If you are sitting in the truck the shaft goes East/West, not North/South.

I will go look again. One sec.

Thanks

This may be what's causing my click, but doesn't sound like the click I hear.

What are your thoughts?

That’s it. If you move it and listen carefully you will hear the sound driving us nuts.

It now reminds me of banging on a ceramic cup with my wedding band to be honest. Ding ding ding. Fn driving me nuts really.

Shit. Guess I'll take mine in.

Worried about how a lot of people here had theirs return though ?

Wonder what happens if I let it be, if it will mess something up in the long wrong?

They are saying no but who knows really. It shouldn’t be banging back and forth either way.

Im not taking mine in till it’s figured out or until my warranty is close (so at least it’s on record).

I swear I’m about to wrap that entire axle in dynamat. Ha!

Haha.

Why is this only effecting the driver's side?

I feel like the passenger side also has play like this.

My passenger side is pretty tight maybe a tiny tiny amount of play.  Nothing like the drivers side. My drivers side fits in there like a wrecked porn star.

Picked up truck last night. So far drove approximately 100 miles. No noise as of yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. The shaft still has some play in it, but no where as much as before.

Thanks for posting this.

I have to take mine in soon.

Whenever I leave my driveway my truck jumps a little bit as I hit a bump and I get the jingle every time now.

Seems to only do it when my steering wheel is turned to the left.

Mine only happened when truck had been driving for 5 or more minutes and at speeds over 35mph. But when it was happening, it was constantly chirping. It was heard over the radio and all other noise. Most annoying sound I have ever heard. I installed the Chevy CAI and performance exhaust to try and overcome the noise, wasn't enough. Hopefully this fix works.
