Same with my BMW.  However it's also important to realize back in the day my M3 going for $60K USD in the US would have cost $100K equivalent overseas.

 

We got better prices for our market, and we got less choices for our market.  If there was really a strong market I'm sure we would have the option.  In the US we are constantly making comments like "It's ridiculous that a $70k truck doesn't have <feature>!"  In other markets they likely pay more and complain less about what they're not getting.
