Well, it's 4. You should call them back up and ask about the Brake recall I mentioned. (N192268090) There are 2 apparently. One for Brake Life % and one for malfunction.

Yes, all 4 were performed. This was my first experience with Ray Skillman GMC service and I was very pleased with the whole process. Service Advisor was great to work with. He had a loaner car for me and ensured my truck was ready when I needed it back, actually an hour earlier.

I would guess it's all software. I doubt they have a sensor to monitor brake pads. Do yourself a favor and just turn off that page in the DIC and check your brakes at 30k miles.

My loaner truck which I got at 6 miles had 300 miles on it and had already "used" 4% of the brake pads and I drive mostly highway

Wow. A sensor? I stand corrected. That is crazy. Maybe that is why the calipers are bigger on the T1s? I am sure everything will be twice as expensive to replace.

I would rather have adjustable brake pedals than engineering spent on a brake sensor that doesn't work

I have a Chevy Silverado I bought brand new July 2019 yes they have brake sensors and a pass to monitor them I have seen the brake pad and there actually is a sensor in the pad I have driven 4700 miles NO HARD BREAKING I get a diagnostic every month from Chevy I’ve had 2 hard breaks since I’ve owned it (deer jump out) so really just normal actually baby driving it still and my pad life is at 56% I said to myself and the dealer that “no damn way I’m changing breaks at 10,000 that’s ridiculous “ she said it’s the software they will check pad but hand to make sure and that software should correct it but I said it very damn well CAUSE THATS INSANE!!! Any car except a 2011 Chevy Malibu I had has never had to have brakes done til 50,00 75000 miles except the maiibu that had to have brakes every 12,000 miles for real Chevy said it was due to road salt from the northeast well I said back um I changed them in June it’s now august used to highway drive for work and no road salt in summer so that was a defect on them but didn’t want to hear about it and I knew other PEOLE with same Malibu had same trouble brakes every 10,000 miles which Chevy offered ZERO RELIEF AND DIDNT WANT TO HEAR ....SO I SAID NOT THIS TIME THEY WILL BE REPLACING BRAKES OR FIVING ME A NEW CAR BECAUSE I AM JOT CHANGING BRAKES EVEY 10,000 miles that’s unheard of except in the Malibu situation....so I have an appt the 26th dec to address brake recall problem and we shall see anyone else get back to me too but I will def let you all know what happens and thanks for all your input

My 2019 At4 is showing 50% on the front usable and 80% on the back with 4500 miles on it.

Not cool..  I don’t mind turning off the technology, but for what they charged for this truck I’d rather have a partial refund.

*Side note, steel on body is about 1.5mm thick.  My 4 year old rubbed her plastic big wheel handlebar along an 18” strip on the drivers door on day 3 of owning the truck.  Her big wheel won...left a crease the whole way.  The AT4 looks tough, but looks aren’t everything...

Take it into the dealership, they’ll do a software update and fix it.

My 19 SLT has 10,900 miles on it and the fronts are at 14% and I can also hear the old metal warning tab squeak a little.  I hope the brakes are not worn out.   This on top of the transmission downshifting when I’m almost stopped and almost sending me into the car in front of me and I might be getting rid of it.

I thought the doors etc where aluminum rather than steel?

I know never to get a first year model of a next gen vehicle but I did it anyway! I was happy with my 15 Silverado not one issue other than I should've got a higher trim level and crew cab. It was my first pickup and I loved it. Fast forward to July I picked up a 19 put 19k miles on it since then and my pads don't even register anylonger just failed message. I'm going in tomorrow for all of the recalls that should've been taken care of when I got my last oil change. I thought I was going crazy I've never had to replace pads on a vehicle before 45K miles, I drive hard but my last Silverado hit 65k before the pads needed changing. We'll see what they say tomorrow!

It's a common and known issue with its own TSB.  You shouldn't have any trouble getting them to fix it along with your recalls.  It's a software update I believe, I had the same issue on my truck.  I usually get 90k miles or more out of a set of pads, mostly highway driving.

Guys I have had this same issue but my troubles seem to be worse for whatever reason.

ok so I have a 2019 TB custom crew cab std bed

purchased in may 2019, no brake issues until around 40k KM(July 2020).Started getting a pulsation and expected a warped rotor.

In July 2020 the brakes were serviced and the rotors were milled flat under GM warranty. They ordered in new pads for front and rear. The recall for bad wear was done as this time as well. I didn’t realize they were killed because the advisor told me they were replaced. My bad for not verifying.

The new pads were installed in august 2020 with ~45000KM on the truck.

in January 2021 I noticed the warp was back(surprise surprise) with about 66000km on the truck. So I scheduled an appointment to see if there was any resolve seeing it was less than 6 months from my supposed brake rotor and pad replacement. A couple days later I got a brake service completed, no issues again but warp still present and I was going to accept it/live with it.

As of today I now have a brake pad monitor alarm in the DIC for worn pads AGAIN. after 6 months and only  20k KM. They are refusing to perform any work or help with this issue as they have stated “GM Canada will only do one replacement”. They want $655 for rear pad parts and install.

new aftermarket parts are $59+tax for rear pads only.

my question is; with aftermarket pads, will there be any affect on the DIC and this service wear indicator constantly being displayed? I have a potential sale on this truck, and would really like to get rid of any DIC related/warning items. (As well as fix the pads)
