Anyone install a Hypertech Calibrator - 730129

Recommended Posts

Curious if it only corrects the speedometer, or if it also helps keep it in a lower gear on the freeway.   With 35" tires i find that driving on the freeway through the mountains, it often should be 1 gear lower instead of me having to lay on the pedal heavier.

Hypertech also sells a React throttle response control, which only seems to do just that.

Update.... got it installed. Working perfectly. Checked with company and they said the odometer is also corrected. Jokingly unasked if I set it to 100 inch tires, would the odometer roll slower, support guy laughed and said yes but your shift points would still be off. I cant seem to grasp that being entirely true as these only corrects the visual speed presented on the display. Wonder if the ECU is reading what is being visually displayed instead of engine RPM and GEAR.

Just seems a little bit fishy...
