This seems so 1980s to me, the same with locking lug nuts,  really?  In fact on my 21 im pissed by the fact that there is an actual gas cap instead of the capless filler necks that are on Fords and other vehicles.

yeah no thanks dont need another key or method to worry about when trying to fill up.

So... Stant has a locking diesel fuel cap for the 2020 silverado 2500hd

Part # 10591D

I'd like to know if that part # would work for a 2021 silverado 2500hd duramax.

Still looking for a locking DEF cap as well.

I know this might seem 80's but some of us need to have the fuel system secure.  My rig is often left in areas where anyone could mess with it without ever being seen.  I'll take the peace of mind before I invite an open door policy.  Anyone found a solution for the 2021 duramax?  Thanks!

I ran across this thread and I am like a few people, capless fuel is fine, but really no basic locking mechanism for the fuel door. All it would have taken was for GM to install a solenoid locking system in conjunction with the door lock and unlock circuit to make it happen. So, without a major design and mod for a locking fuel door here is what I came up with. If you like it or dislike it, it doesn't matter to me. My OCD is now relaxed knowing the fuel door is locked. The parts you need will be a JR Products 00175 Compartment Door Key Lock - 1-1/8", $11.87 on amazon, a 2" FERNCO rubber cap from Home Depot to keep the dust out and finally a 70K GMC Sierra Denali, local dealer. Oh, the locking cap GM sells is junk, since it is easily removable by flexing the housing and it pops right off.

Another thing, the door facia or applique comes off very easily by lifting the tab, it comes off with a little force without moving the tab, it is 92.00 part from GM un painted, the hinge mechanism and well is 20.00 from GM. If I was one of those neighbors I can add a collection of fuel doors already painted and ready to go for EBAY.

Installing the cam lock as gaudy as it may look for some, it actually secures the door to the hinge assembly. You would have to remove the lock to remove the door.

I find it bizarre that the fuel door or cap  is not lockable one . Not only for gas theft but just plain idiots that want to throw some crap down into your tank . There are people like that !

I’d be more concerned with villains that drill holes in your plastic fuel tank.

Just sayin”.

DO NOT buy the POS AC Delco locking one. Thing is so thin and flimsy it's a joke. Broke in my hand. Even when placed on the cap locked it could be easily pulled off. Saw a warning somewhere a time ago but didn't heed it.

HEED THIS!
