@customboss glad the video helped! It's def not a tough task, but supermanning on the radiator support definitely makes it a little tougher. I wish I had one of those engine bay creepers when I did mine.

Mine is a trail boss so that 2" lift really stressed the neck fusion as my fatass hung over the grill !

I just picked up a 24 with the 2.7L. For some reason I am drawn to small displacement turbo engines, owned a couple of the Ford 2.7s also. Every Youtube video I have watched on this thing though, everyone seems to ****** on it. I can only assume it was the same way when Ford started the ecoboost line.

This design is so much better and simpler than the Ecoboost versions and it makes less carbon on valve train. Read up here and enjoy, WELCOME 4 popper turbo new guy!

Update on my 2.7L oil consumption using Mobil 1 5W30 High Mileage formula. I currently have 3000 miles on my current oil change interval. yesterday I checked the oil and it was on the very bottom of the hash marks of the dipstick after sitting overnight. The level has dropped from the initial level about 3/4 up on the hash marks. These seems to be on par with previous oils used, I added about a 1/3 quart to bring it back up to around halfway on the dipstick. Will continue to monitor over the next 2000 miles on this interval.

Still no leaks, this baby just likes to eat that oil.

Yesterday the check engine light came on (2023 Sierra 2.7 Turbomax). No info from truck or GM app. All seemed fine. Ran fine, no issues. This morning the light is no longer on.

I did a google search and it says this can happen on these engines and its due to a loose wiring connection to the transmission. Anyone come across this?

All depends on the code it set.

Never had that and it may not have set a code of wire loose or making intermittent contact.

Thanks for update. On second oil change of Chevron Delo 600 10w30 that has no ZDDP. No oil usage in 3700 miles of use. Total miles on 2.7L 2022 LTD is 53,900.
You are way over 100,000 right?
Amsoil PI going on Maverik E15 today to keep injectors clean.

Additional note:

1) been trying to do 1 min idle cool down to allow temps on head and turbo stabilize. I suspect that temp rise not being stabilized cooks our oils. Which would volatize or coke/varnish enough over a drain to consume some volume of oil.
2) I check oil in am after being shut down all night same position in garage.

I'm getting more consistent oil readings with those two techniques.

The light has come back on and stayed on for the last few days. I can't bring it in to the dealer until the 29th, but I put a code reader on it and got: U0285 (lost communication with active grille air shutter actuator 2)
