Best ever oil analysis. Ring seating improved which dropped NOx, water content, best ever fuels dilution.  NO ZDDP.  Winter in Colorado at 9000' msl! Nice!!

Sampled the 2022 LTD Trail Boss 2.7 with 3000+ miles on the Delo 600 ADF 10w30. Maybe 1/4 qt off full on dipstick. Tail pipe cleanliness and MPG still solid.

Grey column is clean reference DELO 600 ADF 10w30 oil.

@customboss good info. I wonder if I switch to a 10W30 oil, would mine quit burning oil.

No Sir not neccessarily a 10w30 or any standard chemistry lube.

I would prefer a 5w30 in the Delo 600 ADF chemistry.  However 10w30 is what they have besides 15w40.

I am testing this formula for its unique anti-wear system, low TBN, low acid, improved ring seal with our steel  HD design rings, low or no VII, stable viscosity, and  no ZDDP among others.  It consumes clean too.  I surmise that it will burn less oil as I run the chemistry in future oil drains.

This engine eats visccosity index improver so don't try a oil using much of it.

Roger that. I’ll stick with 5W30 and just keep topping it off in between oil changes.

How many miles on this 2022 LTD Silverado 2.7L unit now?  Do you always use M1 Advanced 5w30 Dexos1Gen3? How much oil consumed in what interval?

If you are out of warranty anyway you could try the 10w30 Chevron DELO 600 ADF and see in your case if it slows or improves operation of 2.7T.  This 10w30 is significantly more viscous ( thick at cold pour readings but pumps fine) but it does improve ring seal.

I watched your video with interest.

@customboss I have around 96,500 miles on this truck now. It runs pretty good. Mileage is consistent, 18-20mpg in mixed 75%highway/25% town. I do have the “goose honk” issue, that I think is the wastegate actuator making noise. But other than that and the oil consumption. It’s been a fine motor.

I have not been consistent with using the Mobil1, I did for the first couple changes I had the truck, but then got too busy and took it to a quick lube. For a long while the truck got Valvoline 5W30 full synthetic. But I just changed to a new shop and now they use a Quaker State 5W30 full syn. I’ve noticed the oil consumption with all these oils.

Truck is most def out of warranty. Power train is 60k miles I believe.

I guess I could give the 10W30 a try. But I don’t want to risk ruining anything. I use this truck for work and have to rely on it. But if something breaks…it can get fixed. I’ll have to consider it. If I did switch would you recommend just letting it warm up a little longer before driving? To let that 10W30 warm up?

BTW, thanks for watching.

Great info. What does it consume in what mileage ? When you changed out spark plugs for oil consumption drop at all?
Yes you could run the Delo 600 ADF 10w30 and yes just observe the oil pressure comes off the 60-70 range on cold start to 30 or less. Our oil pumps handle it well. In SC unless you are in mountains  that oil pressure bump up may not even be noticeable.
