Yup, 99% sure it will give me oil temp. Ill check this afternoon that it does and set that as a saved cluster and get some #'s the next time I'm out for a bit.

Did spark plugs on my 2022 LTD (non-HO) 2.7T yesterday. Not a bad install. It can be done in less than 1 hour. The biggest PITA is loosening/removing the nuts on the bracket that sits right over top the cylinder 4 coil pack, so you can move it out of the way to remove the coil and plug. The old plugs looked uniformly worn, although the gap was all over the spec, so it was definitely time to replace them. The old plugs didn't indicate any issues with the engine that I could tell.

Fun fact. GM Recommends 60,000 mile spark plug intervals on these engines. I was at 95,000...

Made a video documenting the process. Give it a watch and a like. I appreciate it.

have you noticed any change in how the engine performs

I only took it on a short drive to the store. It seemed to about the same. I have some serious highway driving this week, I’ll see how it feels and report back.

Thank you so much for posting this here! I will do this for mine when hitting 60K. BTW, just want to know how much dealers are asking for this and also a transmission fluid change for our 2.7Ts.... Had anyone had these at dealer?

Nice video!  I always put a little bit of dielectric grease on the spark plug boots.  Makes the next change easier to get the boots off.

Interestingly, I don't think they put a oil temp sensor on these. I can get dam near everything else but oil temp.  Im gonna follow up with Banks though just to make sure I'm on the right config vehicle wise and if maybe doing the 3.0 diesel will give me more monitors. Right now it's just GM and sync'd with the base GM ECU settings.

  • 2 weeks later...

was monitoring my truck with gds2 hooked to try and find why i get a shutter when i let off the throttle and reapply the throttle. while watching the camshaft profile i have discovered that pulling the 2 fuses for afm does nothing, the camshaft profile still shows the cylinders being deactivated and afm is part of the shutter. the only time i noticed there was not any afm activity was driving it in manual mode, did not try tow mode but will later

Roller followers have had a TECH bulletin for failures. The cylinder deactivation is mechanical unless you are in manual trans mode shift and stay in lower gears. Or automatic and it’s in lower gears but it will always upshift asap in normal cruise level etc. Not sure what year yours is.
