I changed out my winter 0w-30 oil for new m1 ep 5w-30. I only dumped 5 quarts so it either used or retained a quart over 4K miles. I couldn’t wait a couple hours for the oil to drain down like I usually do so might be part of it. This engine seems to retain oil more than most after shut down. The truck has 20k on it now.

What oil filter do you run?

So oil pro's. Life is back to normal since I quit using Amsoil OE and let dealer put in whatever they use, no more watching and adding some in 5000 mile or 7500 km intervals. I'll carry on that way. 37,000 kms or 23,000 miles on her now in about 11.5 months, love every minute of it.

Were you using oil on the Amsoil OE?

yes, 1 quart min when I was trailering regularly, on busy trailering stretch I had to get into a 2nd, moved to dealership oil and voila, back to not worrying about lifting the hood unless to top up the windshield washer fluid, as I've come accustomed to in the 21st century 😉

and reading here is what led me to think that was gonna be the bomb oil for this rig, I came, I saw, I'm letting the dealer handle it 😉

June 20, 2023, 1 year anniversary. 37,850 kms (23,600 miles). Gave truck rides to a couple deer and a wolf. Towing trailer: Summer vacay to Okanogan, two hunting trips to the north, 10 weekends on the ice including one way up north and needing to be chained up to get into, two weekends spring sturgeon fishing, and now gearing back up for summer Okanogan trip again. Best truck I’ve had, zero issues, so quiet and comfortable, tows like a champ, all kinds of power, hills and elevation handled low stress and easy. Love the subtle turbo spooling sounds. Still smile every time I get in it and first pull away hearing that 57mm turbo start to sing. Bowtie till we die! 😉

I honestly think my 22 2.7 Ho trailboss has a more pick up and go than my 22 5.3 Tahoe (granted it’s close). I tow my lund 1875 crossover 200 miles round trip just about every weekend . The truck tows great and gets about 14mpg pulling that boat. I have no complaints. I have 21k miles on mine a good portion of that is pulling the lund or my duck boat depending on the season. I want to hear from some guys with 150k on their 2.7’s. There has to be some out there by now, right?

Been looking around on this thread for a while, has anyone successfully found an AFM disabler for the OBD2 port or are there any programmers for this motor that are reputable yet? 2023 LT

What is your reason or concern for wanting a disabler?

As of right now, nothing works on the 2022.5 and newer 2.7 HO because of the vehicle architecture change from GM Global A to GM VIP (GM Global B).  Things are in the pipeline in the car world of GM VIP (Corvette) but that's it so far.

when I was at the dealership he said 10 minutes to wait for check oil level fyi, likely a general rule of thumb but he was quick to answer when I asked so seemed like a common rule

I just wanted to mention that I just switched to a 2023 with the new 2.7 turbo and its a much improvement over my previous 2.7 turbo in the 2022 model. You can definitely feel to torque differences.

did you have 2022 refresh?
