This might not be related to 2.7, but i think a lot of Custom trims are in here.

How do I determine what fluid to use in my front and rear diffs? Also transfer case?

I know there are several different axles and a few different transfer cases now, the owners manual says "see dealer" but I am not about to take my truck there.

I am coming up on 50k miles and want to replace the diff fluid and transfer case fluid.

All 2.7T have the 9.5" rear axle.  The 8.6" was only used on the 4.3 trucks 2019-2021.  All 3 axles use 75w85 "fuel efficient" synthetic, but 75w90 won't hurt a thing.

Transfer case is Dexron 6.

Let us know what they say

they say they dyno'd the 2022, so the 2022 'high output' appears to be a lie and will need to chase this down

although I absolutely love the power of my unit, I guess I'll have to put mine on a dyno here locally, who else with refresh wants answers on this? not cool gm

Hmmm I wonder why it’s labeled as 2021 Silverado then. I also wonder how they are advertising this tuner for the Colorado/Canyon 2.7 when they probably don’t have their hands on one yet.

I clarified with them and here's the response so there's no mistakes going forward. See below quote. So...we need to start looking for dyno results on other refresh trucks. 7 ft/lbs more torque than hp is screaming gen 1 tune, it should be more like 100 ft/lbs gap after driveline losses. I'll dyno my truck which is the exact same model/color as theirs as well and add that when I can. Hopefully others chime in and we find out what gm has done here...have they just dumped gen 1 engines in customs to use them up or is the 'high output' a scam period? I guess I too may need to buy the tuner lol...the dyno will tell me soon enough. I'm too busy for this sh1t but I'm not gonna roll over on this...I was sold a 430 ft/lb truck.

"Hi Blake,

We dyno'd the white 2022, the DRF file on the dyno needs to be updated to reflect the correct model year.

The white truck on the website is what was dyno'd. "

Food for thought: what if the OG 2.7 was underrated all along?

wouldn't look like it, if that's gen 1 dyno then it lost 55 hp in driveline losses and 86 ft/lbs....when the stock gap from 310/348 is 38 ft/lbs more torque than horsies and dyno is showing a 7 ft/lb gap...so the torque is still below gap it should be...and 55 hp driveline loss seems typical, that's about 17.7% lower than rating

the high output should dyno same hp at 255 but torque should be around 350 ft/lbs with driveline losses... more like this tuner has after the fact

gm has some splainin to do

This is quite confusing. Then what would a Gen 1 dyno at if that’s a gen2?  I’m really just looking for a little more power and fun drivability, numbers don’t matter to me. But now I’m pretty interested to get to the bottom of it. You might be right that the 2022 customs got the gen 1?

I always wondered how they could stuff another 80 ft/lbs in without changing the peak hp so must be a boost through midrange uptick. Anyway I've got a contact for a good local dyno outfit familiar with gm performance tuning etc. so I'll contact them shortly for baseline and I guess if I take further with tuner one day this would be the outfit here to do it for me. Stay tuned, and anyone else with turbo trucks, especially 'high output' feel free to add to the dyno data base we are about to get rolling here. The idea being before we start seeking answers from gm we should likely get some data to work with first. I'm not a big fan of liars so this is personal lol.

My JB4 is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I was due for an oil change so I got that today. I also wanted to get my ECU used to 93 octane, I’ve always used 87 so I’ve run through half a tank of 93 so far. I notice no difference in this truck with 93 vs 87 pre-tuner.

Averaging 18.0 MPG 70% city.

I’m working on an appointment with a local shop to dyno, now I’m curious what’s gained with the tuner. But I’ll give my butt dyno impressions ASAP.

Installed the JB4. Had a few questions and customer service was super fast to respond. I am already working with Terry Burger on some stuff, he already pushed a new firmware out for me. I assume I’m the first one with this for the Silverado. I installed it real clean, looks pretty stock.

I’ll post a better review in time but initial impression is that driving around town is the same as always. Runs exactly the same. When you really hit the pedal the thing pulls a lot more. On the butt dyno it feels like the power is increased up top mostly. It’s like the extra boost is only there when you need it. This is with the Map 1 for 91 octane. I will play with Map 2 for 93 Octane tomorrow.

I’ll eventually get something accurate-ish like a draggy or whatever but I am GUESSING it’s gotta shave about half a second off the 0-60 with a good launch.  The engine already had great low end torque but now it keeps pulling.

UPDATE: Terry from Burger Tuning has been in touch with me every day and has made a few tweaks pushing out new firmware for me.

No cons so far at all. It just feels like it pulls so much harder when you push the pedal hard. Power delivery isn’t super smooth, maybe that can be ironed out with updates but for the cost, it’s a pretty sweet mod for the 2.7L. I’ve never driven a HO 2.7 but I imagine my OG with this tuner feels stronger.
