Rear Differential

This is a really dumb question, but can I replace the hose that goes to the rear differential with a red or yellow one? It would look really cool if you could.

witch hose are you talking about? there are several

I guess thats what it is, its the one on the top forward side of the pumpkin on the drivers side. I will take a pic of it when I can. It's a rubber hose and it's pretty soft. Seems to be the only hose coming directly out of the pumpkin. It is routed from there and toward the front next to the gas tank.

 

My truck is lifted enough to see all that stuff, so it would be pretty cool to get colored hoses to match the boots on the shocks. I also want one of those billet style covers for the diff.

Yes you can. There is a guy over at FSC.com that did this mod. He also used a little K&N breather on teh end. Looked very slick. Let me see if I can get the picture.

Here you go. He used steel braided line. So I assume you can use anything you wanted. And he made a littel bracket to hold teh breather.

Its an easy mod, just make sure you leave some slack to enable your axle to articulate without stretching the breather hose.

Or you can just run a hose a little higher and you won't get any water in your rearend. Looks mean nothing to me it's all functionality..
