Best 1500 6" Lift?

My wife is going to let me lift the truck!!

I need to know which one is the best for the money.

I am also wondering about what tire size to go with.

My other concern is the actual lift height with lift and tires, I am building a house soon and trying to figure out what size garage door to go with.

Any info is much appreciated!!

Ive been doing some searching on this subject myself lately and i think my favorites are Rancho, Superlift, and Pro Comp.. Any one ever heard of Skyjacker?? The local dealer around here is really pushing it..

I have a 6in Superlift on my 2500HD and it stands right at 7 ft. tall, so you would a 8 or Lifted 2003, 2500HD9 ft door would be your best bet.

Is there a need to change the gears? I have the 3.73.

I bought my truck with 4:10's, and with 35's I didnt notice too much lag. But with your 3:73's you probably will notice quite a bit. I really need to change to 4:56'S But will wait it out since I really dont think I need them right now with the gears I have.

When you change the gears, do you have to change the front and rear? I am not real knowledged in that area.

Yup front & rear. I have a 1500 Z71, and went from stock 265"s to 33"s (285"s) and my gears needed to go up. I had stock 3.73 and now have 4.10s. Still want the 4.56s. Point being, yes, you have to do both front and rear.

I have the Rancho lift and love it, but for the money, Id say go w/ the Superlift! Ive also got 315s ie 35s w/ 3.73s and there is some lag w/ them but its not horrible! I do wish I had some 4.56s though!

I bought mine from PerformanceProducts online, but found out 4WheelParts had the same gears for the same price, and installed them for me anyway. SO, I bought em online, but had them installed at a 4 wheel store.

If I didn't mention this earlier, get the gears while the lift is being installed to save $$$ on installation costs. My opinion.

It really depends on what you want. Most people seem to go w/ 6" lifts on their NBS Chevys and run 35" tires. I went a little further and did 9" of lift w/ 36x14.50 Super Swamper TSL Radials. Here's a pic from this past weekend. I'd go Superlift if I were you!
