Which tonneau. BAKFlip MX4 or Fold-A-Cover G4 Elite?

The company that makes these have zero QA department. It's like they are run by prison inmates who don't give a crap about doing anything correctly. They fix one thing and then screw up another.

I'm finally good to go, but this was a jacked up experience.

I ended up going with the BAKFlip MX4 as well.  I think my experience has been slightly better then UGADawgs, but this company has some pretty bad quality control.  Just curious if anyone with this cover is experiencing leaks, and has a fix.  I have leaks at the front corners that to me are fairly significant.   Also have leaks where the prop rods are screwed into the rail.   The screws should be fairly easy to fix, but I'm at a loss for how to fix the corner ones.   I added some additional foam weather stripping but that didn't fix it.   I suppose I could silicone the front corners, but not sure I want to do that to my new truck bed.

Anyone have better luck with the G4?  Also thought maybe something like the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 might be better since it sits on top of the rails.    Just don't want to be chasing the holy grail of waterproof truck covers.

Yeah, the MX4 does leak at the front corners. But, for me, this cover is more for hiding things that can get wet vs storing paper products in my opinion. Ex. Camping chairs, firewood, coolers, maybe suitcases.

I bought the MX4 but the quality control was so bad I sent it back.  The middle panel had completed shifted to one side and the seals were a mess.  Really disappointed with this product.

I bought the truck gear by line-x TG96410T Stealth hard folding cover. The cover is matte black and the same as the Bakflip MX4 with the Truck Gear Badge on it but with a better warranty.

Fit and finish seems great but can’t testify yet if it leaks...just installed it.

Sorry for resurrecting such an old thread - but these are the first pictures I've seen of this -

This makes it look like you need to drill into the bed the get this attached - is that true? or is that an existing mount?

How are you liking the cover?  I'm thinking of getting one.  I originally wanted full bed access for loading a dirtbike, but honestly I don't own one yet.  Besides that I like how you can access it on both sides.  Can put either a storage caddy or cargo net in the front and cargo bar in the back.

You mind sharing how much you paid?

I've had the Fold-a-Cover on my truck for 3 months now and love it.  Yes, not the cheapest option, but I love the flexibility of being able to open the front and back panels.  I hated when things would slide forward on my Avalanche, making me crawl into the bed to retrieve.  My kids would get a laugh watching me .:banghead: :D

I went all in with the cover and undercover storage box, which set me back $1,500.

The only leaks I've had so far are from the factory holes in the bed,  Need to get some rubber stoppers or something to fill them.

I just got my G4 and have trouble getting the rear back panel to sit flush with the tailgate completely closed. It is raised VERY slightly...less than 1/4". I can get it to sit flush if i play with the closing of the tailgate but in all the videos i've seen of the G4, it looks like it just requires a good slam and everything fits like it should. Just wondering if you also have this Issue? My truck is a 2019 GMC with the multipro tailgate. Its almost like the entire side rails need to move back about a hair or 2 but I just wondered if you also had any similar issue before i tear it down to try to adjust? Thanks
