The all new Chevy Suburban & Tahoe along with the all new GMC Yukon have been caught testing on public roads once again. We've licensed these images so we can show you the very first look at production lighting for these future 2020 model year vehicles.

The last time we saw pre-production models of GM's full-size SUVs was last fall when the 2020 Tahoe and Yukon were caught on film for the first time. This time, the trucks look more complete and almost ready for action.

Here's what our spy photographer has to say about the 2020 Suburban, Tahoe and Yukon:

We now have the first images of the production lighting and LED signatures for the 2020 GMC Yukon and Chevy Tahoe/Suburban.

Testing of the 2020 GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban has really ramped up over the last weeks, and some of the prototypes have advanced to a more production-ready stage.  Gone are the rough placeholder headlights and tail-lights, replaced by production-spec lighting units on the front- and rear-fascias.  The headlights on the big body-on-frame SUVs share a greater family resemblance with their pickup truck counterparts, but the Yukon and Tahoe/Suburban get unique design elements to separate themselves from the Sierra and Silverado.

2020 GMC Yukon Lighting Details
The 2020 GMC Yukon gets similar headlights to the Sierra truck, but a unique frontal LED signature distinguishes the SUV from the pickup.  The GMC’s parenthetical LED signature is similar to the trucks, but an extra “eyebrow” of LED light sits atop the lighting cluster.  We can now see through the front camo mesh, to confirm that the grille and headlight interface is similar to the Sierra, with some bodywork residing between the grille and the vertically-stacked cluster of headlight elements.

The tail-lights also maintain the traditional GMC shape, once again playing off the truck’s rear LED signature, but the rear lamps get a new segmented treatment, to separate SUV from pickup truck.

2020 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban Lighting Details
Our shots of the 2020 Chevy Tahoe/Suburban prototypes show a similarity to the adventurous lighting design applied to the new, 2019 Silverado pickups.  While the previous generation of Silverado & Tahoe/Suburban showed a marked difference in their headlight designs, the all-new Silverado and the next-gen Tahoe/Suburban prototypes look like they’ll maintain a closer family look.  The 2020 Tahoe/Suburban prototype caught here looks like its getting a variation on the Silverado’s thin headlight strip and funky “boomerang” LED lighting signature.  The shapes don’t look like a carbon copy, but Chevy stylists are making it clear that they’re closely related.

It’s clear that GM’s big, truck-based SUVs are making strides toward production, the move to production lighting is a telltale step in the right direction.  With the Ford Expedition selling at a blistering pace—necessitating a boost in production capacity—GM has no time to lose.

These look like they will come out really nice.  They seem to have more of a design relation to their pickup brethren like they used to in the GMT-800 and older days.  I think the Chevy has some Silverado HD/Blazer going on up front.

Nice?  It's got the same ugly front end as the Sierra and Silverado!  Hardly nice at all!!  UGLY!  Iet's hope the rear end is an improvement over the trucks.
