New Infotainment update v803.1

Recommended Posts

My loaner has v803.1

Yesterday I started truck and the radio was showing it was playing a song but no volume. Tried the mute button and volume buttons nothing would give me any noise. Switched from XM to fm still no sound. Had to go out and back into radio app then it worked.

Last night the preset stations were jumbled. I have 4 presets. I hit the 2nd one and it started playing 1st preset, then I hit preset 3 and it started playing preset 2.

Seems back to normal today.

Again today, started up truck and it was on SiriusXM but no noise. Radio was unresponsive. Could not get any sound, tried changing channels, switched to fm, nothing. Had to go out of radio and click on phone app, then back to radio app and all was fine again.

Apparently it wasn't a fluke last time. Both times the truck was on SiriusXM when it was started.

How?

I had to contact the Chevrolet Executive Resolution Team,  ([email protected]) and request it be restored.  The Messages App is no longer supported, but if it was  previously downloaded to a Profile it was not suppose to have been deleted with the update!

Get your profiles configured because the Message App will disappear from the Apps Drawer in a few days.

Done and Done.  I have even added it to the "Guest" profile.

Well, something odd happened yesterday. All of a sudden I couldn't get the head unit to play any music, AA, XM, BT from phone, or even FM. It was completely dead. When trying to change channels or anything it said that function isn't available. I power cycled the truck and no change. I unplugged the USB cable from my pixel3xl, no change. But once I tuned BT off on the phone, the FM radio started playing. Some weird pairing lockup occurred. Weird for sure.

Has anyone had to go to the dealership to get the new software. My build date was late of 2018, but I purchased the truck about a month and a half ago. The version running is 509. It says I'm up to date, with the last update done in December 2018. MyGMC suggested I go to the dealer, but if there is a way to download the software to a thumb drive and then install it, I'm all ears on how to do that. I would prefer not to go to the dealer if I can help it.

The updates will either come OTA [Over the Air] from Onstar or the Dealership can install them. A user reported here that the updates were on hold presently due to some problem. V803.1 would be the next update for you, but since a hold is present, you will stay at V509 for now.
