Since the update:  My Messenger App has been removed and I no longer get messages displayed!  My Hands Free Calling has been disabled even though I have over 500 minutes showing!  My wife's profile was just deleted and All her settings!  OnStar's solution, after spending 1.5 hours and being transferred back and forth between 3 different departments, is to TAKE it Back To the Dealer!

It happen to me 4/10 Doug. Lost my profile along with the Messenger, Marketplace and Weather App. I logged back in using my user id and password and the profile which is suppose to be saved on the radio [Max 4] or the cloud [unlimited profiles] allowed me to be logged in. I did not have to create it again is what I am saying. My Favorites and those 3 Apps were gone. My Wife's profile was fine and it contained those Apps still. Since the Message App is no longer available in the Apps Store for download, we are outta luck for using it on our profile. I called Onstar and started a case with Tech Support. That will not go far with my experience. GM had said a couple of months ago that the message app would no longer be supported. I replied back to them that the app was there when I bought the truck and it should be there as long as I choose to use it. I had lost it before [same circumstances]  and they allowed me to download it once. Well obviously GM has been tinkering around our profiles. I was just waiting for someone else to say something about this occurrence. So I sent a request to Mr. Barry.L.Engle [Exec VP and President of the Americas GM] for retrieval of the message app. I guess I wait for a response [if I get one] from GM or Onstar. I received a response from the Executive Resolution Team and they report I should see the Message App appear in my Apps Drawer. If and when I get the software, I will do a write up on who to contact to get the app back.

I will let you know what I find out over the next few days. This group said I should have the message app for downloading soon. Then I will ask what other owners should do to ensure it is an easy fix.

So Today the Hands Free Calling is now Working and Displays the minutes available!  However, still no Messaging App.

Well I received my Message App today. The Powers above me saw fit to populate my Apps Drawer with the message App. The folks at the Chevy Executive Resolution Team finally contacted the right group to reinstall the App. My contact Cristin, will try to get a process in place so when a owner calls Onstar and gets connected to the Connections Group, this group can take the correct action. While talking to Cristin, it seems the corrective action will be taken based on some circumstances. GM basically discontinued the Message App on these trucks so placing it back on is a little work. I explained to the team that I had the App on when I bought the vehicle and I was using it. Then GM took the App away from the Apps Drawer therefore not allowing me to add it to new profiles or to re-add to a profile that it disappeared from. In Feb 2019 after an update, the message app on one of my profiles went bye bye. Wrote to GM and the end result was they added the message app back in so I could add it back into my profile. Then they took it away again. April 2019 and the same thing happens. The app has been added and reinstalled. But I had to write a VP at GM, he referred the problem to the Resolution Team, they had to find the right group. Now the owner should be able to call Onstar Connection Center, state their problem and get a resolution. Cristin is trying to work out the mechanics.

Well I had a talk with the Resolution team and they asked that I not divulge the steps I took to solve my message app. They said that Owners should contact Onstar and then ask to be transferred to the Connections Group who have the responsibility to place the message app back on the owner's truck. Now the App was discontinued in Feb 2019 and they must decide whether or not to be reinstalled. I guess they take in account various factors ie owner loyalty, number of years etc. I am not sure to be fair, but they have reinstalled my app when asked but thru back channels [ie writing VP of the Americas @gm.com]. I have tried the Connections Department and have never had any luck getting this problem fixed, so I kinda followed the paragraph above [hint]. The resolution team did say that they have talked to the Connections Department and hopefully problems such as this are handled in a more timely manner. Bottom line if you are not getting the service, contact the people in the clouds.

I just spent an hour with the OnStar Connection Center and the bottom line is They know nothing about the Message APP or how to get it reinstalled!

I received a phone call from onstar today, to ask me if I'm happy with the truck and see why I canceled my service with them.

Of course, I told them how I'm happy with their horrible service. They said they'll investigate for the message app. ?

I just read where a user talked to Onstar about the Message App and they told the owner that the App was discontinued. That is the first time Onstar has an answer instead of sending it upward and not hearing anything back. On the other hand, Onstar should have had created a case number and passed it upward for further action. The owners can request the App and GM will look at it on a case by case to determine if the request  should be honored. I can see the App disappearing from the Apps Drawer, but when they take it from a profile, they should put it back.
