ChevyHDGert
I currently have a 2” rear lift block and cranked bars in the front and I am going to install the green keys, bigger tires and rancho 9000 shocks. Or should I just take the lift blocks out and install a 3” PA BL and forget about the keys? Is the body lift gonna be that much taller than the keys and lift blocks? Can I combine the 2 (keys and blocks with the 3” BL)? Will I definitely lose my front tow hooks? Will the receiver hitch stick below my rear bumper or can that be altered to not look as bad? Can someone post pics of body lifts on HD or others? And can you also give me your fender height measures?
MountaineerTom
Mines not an HD, and I know your tow hooks are designed and mounted differently, but I wouldn't imagine the air dam would need much more modification than mine did. I basicly just cut a notch in the bottom of the hole. I trimmed the hoop part of the frame horms off and then just had to do some very minor trimming of the inside back of the air dam opening to make it fit without rubbing the frame. Y2KZ71 has a 1500 also, and he removed the factory hooks and mounted a set of 10,000 lbs capacity hooks on the frame using one of the existing holes and then just had to drill one other one to match up with the hook. You should be able to run the lift block and keys with no problems. A body lift has no effect on the suspension. I'm pretty sure the rear hitch and bumpers look the same between the HD's and 1500's. I havn't done anything with mine, but may sometime if I get around to it. Some have make spacers out of rectangular tubing to fit between the bumper and hitch that turns out looking very good. One guy custom make a piece of round tubing and put in in there. Mark2000Z71 Here's mine set up just as the Performance Accessories instructions describes. I have a bunch of pictures from when I installed my body lift that may be helpful. There is also a link to chevy4x4trucks site with pics of his B/L installation. Even though it's not an HD, some of the procedures might be similar, if not the same. Good luck. Body Lift Installation Pics
HendyPhoto
If you do a body lift, I would definitely get running boards or step tubes, these trucks already show alot of frame, and you will show even more with a body lift. The steps hide that frame. Go with a suspension lift instead.
CHevyHD4x4
Body lift on HD,I also have green keys installed and left the rear bumper at stock height.
BlackSilver
I can't imagine you'd want to body lift an HD. With that tall frame, the d**n thing sits too high already.
HendyPhoto
It can never be too tall Blacksilver!! Your nerf bars look very good by the way! I just wish the frame was hidden a little better, and your nerf bars do the trick.
