The GM CAI adds basically nothing. The exhaust is rated for +13hp and +8tq so anyone can do the math there. The intake is supposedly made by K&N, but it still uses a dry filter so there isn’t as much of a flow increase as you’d see with one of the aftermarket boxes.

Overall I’m happy GM offers these parts and I think they are quite good if bought “right”, either on sale through GM, with bonus points, or from a third party vendor. I have the exhaust and love it. It cost me no more than a Borla or Corsa and it’s a perfect sound level for a truck I tow with. Went with the Roto-Fab intake but I can see why people get the GM too. Hard to argue with a factory backed, dealer installed mod.

Just wanted to share some info on the back ordered GM 6.2 performance intake.

I picked up my TB the first week of November. Waited for Thanksgiving weekend to order the intake/exhaust combo. Order initially went through for in stock parts, (shop Chevy parts) but Monday morning an email came through stating the intake was on back order. I approved the wait time for the intake and then ship the completed order. Followed up a few time between then and now with no info on when it would come off back order.

contacted GM Performance about it and not mention info given on when it would be available. No precise date on when I could expect it. Mentioned the pandemic had caused disruptions. At this point with the weather warming up I’m. Or going to wait any longer but will go aftermarket for an intake and exhaust.

Don’t hold your breath if you are waiting for the 2020 6.2 performance intake.

I purchased my 2020 Chevy TB in August the build date was July 2020 with the LT 6.2 and dealer installed performance Pkg, very happy truck is very nicely tuned, runs well and sounds great. The one issue I have is the factory throttle settings have sone lag I would like to clear up. I have been thinking about a tuner or custom tune. Since I will someday make changes as I do on my vehicles Uy have not found exactly what I am looking for but if anyone has this experience I would love to hear about it. Anything that does not void factory warranty please share

thanks

I am puzzled why this hasn't been broadcast everywhere.  50 HP for a cat back, meaning emissions and warranty aren't affected.  They only show one for a short bed but I'll bet they'd make one for a standard bed.....

I think there is no way this is accurate.

I did not have to have it flashed and seemed to wake it up. The GM package is overrated, overpriced and the so called flash makes no noticeable difference. When I inquired about it at the dealerships performance shop, they are the ones who told me to go aftermarket that the GM CAI and exhaust (made by Borla) was okay but better options.

Yeah I think I want the borla s-type and unsure on the brand for the CAI.

I don't see the value in it.  If we were talking the Corsa setup then I might agree.  Like I said I  am all about aftermarket setups if I see the benefit, all my summer cars have full setups from the headers back, Corsa on the Vette, Magnaflow on the Roush, but the GM perf exhaust I do not see the setup matching the price tag.  The muffler is basically the XR, which imo is not loud enough.  It just doesn't make enough sound for me.  Your basically paying the GM tax for the setup.  I put a custom mandrel bent setup on mine instead.

Your also taking the catback and combining it with the CAI for the numbers, which I'm not denying they are there, but not many are buying both. I also think the GM CAI is overpriced as well, plenty of other choices out there that cost less and look better, and put up good numbers.  I'm not after numbers, if that was what I  was looking for I'd be looking into heavy engine mods.  If I want to go fast, I pull out my car (when its not winter lol)

I think I like the Borla S-type over Corsa. What brand CAI do you recommend?

this is the GM performance exhaust with the black tips on a 6.2, sounds great on startup and acceleration, pretty quite when just cruising

That looks and sounds bad ass

I have had this on my Denali 6.2 for some time -actually seems to have gotten a little louder in a good way. The combined HP for the GM CAI and exhaust is +15. One benefit to having them installed at the dealer is that they told me that they add it to the Vin paperwork -which I would think then shows up when searched and you get the value factory option added to the sale or trade-in?

I have the airraid intake tube, removes the boigbox on the throttle body but retains the factory airbox and intake tube up to the hood latch. i dont notice much drone, nothing like my old magnaflow was on my '18 5.3
