I played around with them and ended up with 1,2,3,4,5 in the up position, 6 down.  It's pretty loud, but with the control knob you can dial it back.

The best crossover point seemed to be 1up, 2down, 3up (4up,5up,6 down), but the volume was too low.  One of these days I'll figure out the sweet spot!

Talked to Kicker, 1,2,3 = Gain Settings, 4 = 12volt or DC (leave it up for 12v), 5,6 = Slope  (5up and 6down = 12db), not sure what 24db would be.

thx for the info, I did buy the control knob. Came with 1 and 6 down, rest up. Sound ok, put all but 6 up and hit pretty hard. The control is the key i think being able to turn it down.

Just had this installed including the kicker remote.  Doesn't seem to be very loud and only seems to hit hard on the very low parts of song.  Have the switch at 1-5 in up, 6 down.,  Bass setting on head unit is set all the way up.  Not really noticing that much of a difference based on everyone else responses....any advise??

Thanks!

Best I can tell the first 3 switches up is the most you'll get out it. And with a song with heavy bass beat, like rap songs, it should be vibrating the seat and well everything. Do you have the control knob turned up?  Otherwise maybe it's not tapped into the correct wires.

Where are you guys finding the adjustment switches on the Kicker sub??? I have been pulling my hair out trying to tune it and have been unable to locate any sort of adjustment.... ??‍♂️

Edit: I purchased the kicker remote that was recommended here and was informed by kicker tech support that there is no way to adjust the amplifier.,.

Edit again: disregard. I have a 2018 Silverado and it appears that you all are taking about the 2019 system.

Not sure on an 18, but on the 19 you have to remove the amp and underneath it is a rubber grommet remove it to access the micro switches.

Just installed mine, control knob not here yet took about 2.5 hours with lots of breaks it’s hotter than Hell’s Kitchen outside no shade. Nice easy clean install. It helps to have some red t-taps just 2 instead of spicing. I have the Bose from the factory. I didn’t reset switches or have the knob still sounds way better than stock. If you are doing your own system lots to be learned from factory setup, for Bose tap into to yellow/yellow black twisted pair there is a ground point under passenger kick panel, there is a nipple over the firewall pass through cut end off nipple right through to passenger footwell. I have built a lot of sub systems over the years, this is not the best but for $600 and a very easy install I like it a lot.

I got the sub gain knob in, as expected it is just an attenuator let’s you turn the sub down from how the switches on the amp are set. Mine came in with 2 down all others up, it switched 2 up played around a while and ended up with them all up, that drops the crossover point so the suck ass Bose sub and the Kicker are not on top of each other. I have plenty of gain with the knob I think I am about half way. I need to spend some time with it. No it’s not the dual 15” isobaric box with 1000 watts I built in a K5 Blazer years ago but it’s not bad.

I have factory Bose and Installed kicker sub recently.  I called Kicker before the install to ask about amp adjustments and where to connect the control knob.  The rep was short and annoyed, insisted I NOT adjust the amp switches and that there were no known issues with any early shipped units (I read there were). It was not hard IMO the worst part is routing the harnesses around and through the rear carpet.  Also there is an extra lead that is unused but not mentioned in the directions so I had to waste time and call during the install to make sure.  Make sure you get the bass control.  I mounted it dead center bottom of the stack above my console with 3m trim tape, looks fine, wire is hidden and it's stuck firm.   My rear speakers are pretty much useless know, not sure if I should be concerned?  Overall it sounds okay though.

Also, I asked why they didn't make a complete system with the integrated digital signal processor and he said that it was coming for non Bose trucks 2019+.

Well I could not wait I got the kicker for my 2019 trail boss custom.  Let me tell you big difference if you want some bass get this don’t worry just get it.  Worth it if you feel there not enough tin the factory system.  The most important thing is to buy the control knob and put in at the same time it will save you some aggravation to do it all at one time.  The control knob is the secret with different kinds of music instead for staying on the equalizer page changing all the time you just turn then controller.  I love it.

I got this a few months back and it hits very hard, with no distortion at all.  A buddy bought the kicker, we both said, there's a huge difference going with the JL Audio Stealthbox with the two 12" subs.  Of course it's much more money too.  If you want something that hits hard, this is the way to go.

   Thanks, Jerry

What amp did you get to power this?  Where did you get the signal from on the Bose system?

That JL setup looks nice. Alas, I have the dealer Kicker. I have noticed that the sub drops out on songs with alot of bass if I turn the volumn around half way. On the bose btw.  Anyone else have that happen? What would be the resolution, better woofer or bigger amp or both?

I can make mine do that also, but I have to really be pushing it beyond any quality threshold for all speakers (Bose System).  It stays on-line for me at the volumes I like, and I'm no pansy when it comes to volume.  Do you have the vol control knob?  Really helpful to dial in different songs...
