33s to 35s. Slug much?

Recommended Posts

what to do is figure out how much your current wheel set up weighs and figure out what your proposed set up weighs. I went from a 285/45r22 (45lbs)to a 33x12.50r22 (61lbs).  Even with a 6.2 took a noticeable hit with acceleration, handling , and mpg. went from hot rod to truck. You throw on some heavy 35's without gears on a 5.3 it's going to be a dog.  A tune or exhaust is not enough to cover the increase in rotational mass to keep performance exactly the same, you can gain a little back sure, but not the same as a lighter set up or factory tire/wheel combo.

Nitto makes a 305/55r20 grappler (non LT) that only weighs 50lbs. compare set ups on tiresize dot com
