Dually Shock Question

Hello;

I've got a '98 Dually (w/72K), and it doesn't ride anywhere near as well (over moderate bumps) as several others I have ridden in. I unhooked the rear shocks to see if they were bad, and I notice that they are much easier to compress than to extend. I can compress them by pushing on them with my palm without a lot of effort. I also noticed that if left unattended, one will extend by itself (to the full limit of its' travel) and the other one doesn't move. Is this the way they're supposed to be, or is it time to replace them?

Thanks -

Doug

I've never seen a good shock not try to extend itself if left to it's own devices (not hooked up to anything). Sounds to me like you might have a problem.

Check out the Rancho 9000x for a good shock. They allow you to adjust them to whatever feels good for you. I've been using them on my last 3 trucks, and will use them again.
