Burning smell

Recommended Posts

I have a 2018 Dmax with just under 5900 miles on it.  After making a short 10 mile trip, I noticed a burning smell when exiting the truck.  The truck sat for a few hours in cold temps and then drove back home, 10 miles, and smelled the burning smell again.  Popped the hood and found that the coolant surge tank was extremely hot to the touch and completely full.  I had this smell previously so took the truck into the dealership and asked about the burning smell 1/30/18 and was told the smell was from the stickers used during production were burning off.  I would think anything would be burned off by now, if that was the case.  My temp is running normal, normal oil pressure, but I don't think it's normal for the  coolant surge tank to be extremely hot, am I wrong?  I love this truck but I'm worried something isn't right.  It was not going through a regen, either.  Any ideas?
