Not really. 5 mpg is a huge difference.

Heck, 17.5 was damn good mpg to begin with!

I'm very happy..... :)

5mpg is a big difference, but my point is that the DFM probably accounts for a small portion of that.  On my 2018, I saw no real difference between 8 and 4 cyl mode before I disabled AFM.  Maybe 1mpg.  It was negligible.

Same I think holds true for DFM.  They do it because the gubment demands that they do things for fuel economy to save the polar bears, and in the end it doesn't make much of a difference and potentially creates headaches for the owners somewhere down the line when the lifters fail or they start burning oil in some of the cylinders, and then you have to argue with GM as they try to deny a warranty claim and blame it on what air freshener you had installed..  lol

I see what your saying. May be true.

All I had to compare is an 07 classic.

At any rate, very happy with the mpg even if DFM is not solely responsible.

Yeah, I mean the new truck is 12 years newer, that's a big difference.  Is the old one even GDI?  It's certainly heavier and less aerodynamic...

Yeah, I hear ya. And, this 2019 is truly aerodynamic. That front end vents along with the rear spoiler really works! And, being lighter helps as well. But, DFM does help too imo. You may very well be right when you say +1 mpg

Could be +2 maybe 3 though. I mean, I can really tell when I dont get on mine a lot I'll get 24 mpg, but when I hav to hammer it, or even just stay at a higher rpm, the mpg really goes down.

Its really hard to tell just how.much DFM really accounts for.

Mainly because mine and, as well as other is so seamless its impossible to tell when its 4 or 8 cylinders. GM did a really nice job on it at any rate. In my experience anyways.

I have not noticed it going back and forth.  At least not like on our 2016 Suburban.

The only indication that I can tell is when on flat country roads doing 55 I can see my Instant mpg move back and forth more than when on the interstate doing 75.

But it isn't noticable at all.  The suburban I can tell when it goes to V4 by the vibration I can feel and hear a difference in tone in the engine.    But with the 6.2 on the 2019 it is seemless.

I would agree with this guy, 2020 6.2L for me. But then I put the Gibson cat back on, and you can tell just how much it switches back and fourth. The exhaust note, which is to be expected, changes quite a bit. And like the other guy stated you notice if your looking at you instant economy, the little blue bar moves up and down...
