OnStar and mic not working

Recommended Posts

2015 GMC Sierra  replaced battery last weekend now OnStar isn’t lit up or functional and mic on hands free doesn’t work. I can hear them fine they can’t hear me at all. I can push the OnStar button all I want no response. Is there a specific fuse or fuses that are distinctly for those 2 functions?   Or do I suck it up and disconnect battery and try for a reset and reprogram all my tpms sensors and radio stations

My 2015 is doing the same thing I had thought it was because my microphone got damaged from the antenna leaking, my OnStar is a red light on the mirror and The Voice works but it doesn't recognize my voice on commands. I can hear people just fine but they can't hear me at all. I'll be looking forward to some answers or suggestions as well. If I figure something out I will let you know

haha, funny, did you buy your truck used or new?

reason is I bought mine new and snipped the wire to the mic in the headliner so the mic is not functionable, previous owner might have also done this also, or you got a bum mic,

I thimk the next project will be to remove the gps antenna so onstar cant recieve my trucks data, lol

Ok so I managed to troubleshoot and resolve. Actually pretty simple. When I changed out the battery and hooked back the leads to battery post the fluctuation of not being a solid contact and go created a corruption on the mylink/onstar. By removing the negative only and draining all capacitors by holding negative lead to positive side of battery and then re attaching negative lead it resets/reboots the two corrupted functions. Problem fixed for free. Other than reprogramming tpms sensor locations

You can disable the GPS antenna by simply placing a metal cover over the antenna. Look for deep drawn aluminum cans. There are multiple vendors. You are looking one with a flange or lip. Place a bead of RTV (like you use in the kitchen or bath - non acetic acid type) around the flange, invert the can and sit it over the top of the antenna. Clean any excess RTV that exudes from under the lip off the perimeter of the lip.    Zero brand deep drawn aluminum enclosures

Has anyone came up with a solution for this. My mic doesn’t work I can hear other people but they can’t hear me. Also my onstar light is red. It will call onstar but they can’t hear me because the mic isn’t working

I've got the same problem. My mic just stopped working one day. I can hear people when they call but they can't hear me. I also tried voice commands. No voice recognized. Did the bluetooth microphone just stop working? Should I replace the mic or is there something else?
