Can anyone tell me if my silverado is equipped with remote start?

If so it does.

Hit the lock button twice then hold the circle arrow for 4 seconds and it will start

FYI you don't have to hit the lock button 2 times. I just found that out myself last month.

Included on LTZ and HC

On LT trucks - Included and only available with (PCM) LT Convenience Package, (PDU) All Star Edition or (PDA) Texas Edition. Includes (UTJ) Theft-deterrent system.

Not available on Silverado Custom, LS or Work Truck

 

Not sure if there is a 'accessory' retrofit available from dealer.

You can buy the hood latch kit and run the wire to the bcm and thebdealer can RedLaser your truck for it.  LTs and up if you don’t have it.  The kit is around 80 plus whatever the dealer charges you.  I suggest calling the dealer last around you and getting quotes.  Some act stupid and will tel you they can’t do it.

Prior models you did have to hit it twice, 14 on is only once. Just were just subliminally using your memory.

What model and trim is it, guessing a crew since your VIN starts with a 3.

The 2009 Silverado 2500HD I had, you only had to hit the lock 1 time, just like my 2015

 

Father in laws 2011 Silverado 1500 same thing, only have to hit the lock 1 time.

Could have swore my 08 needed it done twice, but I am probably wrong, nothing new there....

I'm wondering if Fernando's truck had it? I didn't see the BVT on the option code sticker so I'm thinking it don't have it. Must be LS or WT? 

Easy answer is the key fob .

It’s an LT. should I buy a fob with the remote start and get it programmed and see if it works?

If your truck did not come with it, you will need everything that comes in this kit, 22997089 Complete Remote Start Kit for 2014 - 2018 Silverado or Sierra 1500 OEM

Send your vin to [email protected] ask for a list of your RPO codes and a copy of the service records. Should have it back within a couple of days sometimes within a couple hours.

$230 shipped on Amazon for that kit seems pretty reasonable to do that upgrade if not equipped.
