.. so I finally got the chance to install the single port UPR plug n play kit on my truck today. This is my honest impression of the installation:

-- Shipping was fast and arrived well packaged

-- instructions were supplied for 18-19 MustangGT Wipple charger w/CSS application.. not much help for a 18 Silverado 5.3. Fortunately with the help of this forum and YouTube the installation instructions were obtained.

-- mounting bolts on top of the can are located directly underneath the middle dirty port (I'm sure there is a logical reason for this.. they just could've been located elsewhere for my installation) which made accessing the bolts here difficult; in fact I ended up losing a washer trying to work around the port.

-- the quick connect fittings and hoses are AWESOME.. (large reason I was swayed by the UPR can). The 90 fittings are easy on/off like OEM with a single press point. The straight fittings are much more difficult to remove as they have double press points and these end up on the motor end where access is limited.. but they are still fantastic.

-- both hoses were routed alongside each other then under my engine cover.. there is just enough clearance without modifying the cover; however I will add some split loom at this point for added protection. The dirty line then runs along the intake following the original path hidden by the cover.

The final plug n play install ended up looking much cleaner then I had anticipated and I am happy with the result; however I will still probably end up relocating the can to the front corner of the engine to free up the area around the oil fill and dipstick in the spring when the weather warms up.

Agreed! @STRMTRPR was very helpful in my quest to emulate his look. I replaced the Cadillac cover with a USAF badge. When I relocated my catch can to the fender, I made sure my hoses all went under the cover.

Thank you for your help in the cover, by relocating to the front fender/spare battery area, it allows clear access to oil fill and dipstick.

Hey Storm...I got a pair of these and they make the dual push point connectors a breeze!

.. those are just what I need! .. placed order with Amazon - thanks!.. I have a plan to keep my catch can in it's present location and still have clear access to my oil fill.. details to come if it works out.

.. thanks all for the kind words

.. ok so I'm pleased to report that my plan to access my oil fill unobstructed by my catch can lines allowing me to leave my catch can in it's present location worked out great so far and install was plug n play!  .. I will update again after I get some driving time on it but here's what I did (part # used are in screenshot)..

- oil filler tube extension

- filler tube extension seal

.. this moves the oil fill cap up and forward of the stock location .. both clearing the catch can hoses and making adding oil easier by bringing the fill point closer to the front of the engine bay. I've attached pics from multiple angles to clearly show the result.   For the ~$20CAD OEM parts required I'm more than pleased.

.. added a drain ball valve to attach a hose for easy empty.. wish I knew UPR offered a solution when I purchased my kit but you know what they say about hindsight!

.. I also noticed that the can fitting to the manifold had been leaking.. obvious discoloration of the teflon tape.. I'll be removing the fitting and resealing this as well. :(

So clean...I love the set up!

Any plans on CSS for you?

.. no.. only because I like to keep the clutter to a minimum and the fact that I am rarely in the power curve where CSS really benefits - I reserve WOT for 2 wheels.. I have a highly modified GSXR for that!

..BTW.. thanks to SS502 for the idea for the hose separator clamps.. just waiting for them to arrive

Yea I hate clutter in the bay. I'm going to get the aluminum hose separators that @SS502 got from Amazon. Those look great and tidies it all up.

WOT for 2 wheel only got it! Maybe one day I'll be back on. I used to track a CBR with a tuned full akra set up. Never thought that was loud but today I find my GMPP Borla so loud that I had to put a stock resonator on it. Apparently the hairs that migrated from the top of my head to my ears aren't doing enough to reduce noise.

That worked great! I may get one even though I have a clear shot but it still takes a funnel due to the angle. Is this a direct fit on our engines? I had seen where someone got one off a older Suburban and had to Dremel it to make it work but it was a little wobbly. Looks great and thank you once again for the help!!

..I made no modification at all to this tube.. just unscrewed the oil cap.. screwed on the extension tube with seal and put the original cap back on. This tube has the slots for the tabs located 90 degree from the original cap so the tube faces more towards the front of the engine rather than straight up (this is the result I was after as my oil lines are directly over top the oil fill cap.. I wanted a clear shot to my oil fill and dipstick which is I have now)

@SS502What size pyrex is that?  Wife would kill me if I used that!

My average is about 0.65 oz per tank (300 miles).

Do have an aux battery in your truck? Just wondering about the red wire across the back of your bay.

Been asked why not just use a water bottle. Answer is; I relocated my can(s) to the fender directly over the spare battery tray. I can not fit a water bottle under the can(s) so I was going to just use a aluminum pie pan. I found this in the same isle at Walmart and grabbed it. It fits perfectly in the battery tray, directly under the can(s). So I just lay this in there, open both drain valves, go have a coke or whatever and let it drain unattended. After about 10 minutes, I just close both valves, slide this out and I'm done. No mess, no babysitting the empting process. I put the lid on it to keep the results from spilling while waiting on disposal. Eventually I will empty this into my used oil container and take it to the recycle place up the road to dispose of it.

The picture is for size reference, not sure the actual measurements.

The red wire across the back is the power source for my AMP/Subs. No aux battery.
