Just got my first and LAST Chevy ever!

I just got my 2020 Chevy Silverado RST 4X2 delivered to my home today and was totally shocked it did not come with Sirius XM.  This is my first chevy and my 12th car. This is the first time I did not like a new vehicle. I live on Sirius XM when driving and I shouldn't have to add anything to $40k plus vehicle to get it.

The bad part about this is that the sales rep said oh yes it'll all be there its easy to setup! I am beyond disappointed that this happened, all of my vehicles are xm capable and you're telling me I buy a 2020 and now I don't have XM! Are you kidding me?? Did they want more money cause I would have gladly selected a different vehicle! damn

It really is and the only fixes I find add more wires and I don’t want that! When I went back to the dealership they had no clue what I was talking about. How do you not know your own product?? After doing enough research I figured out that you have to get the convenience package 2! They also didn’t even tell me I was eligible for a military discount, that woulda been nice! Oh wells you live you learn.

So let me give some clarification on our system " VAIS Tech" model #GSR-GM03 On most of the vehicles in this post your truck most likely has (2) USB ports. One is USB-A and the other is USB-C. Depending on what type phone you have, iPhone or Android should determine which of these two ports to use. If your phone has a USB-A to charge, then you can get an adapter and use the USB-C port for our device. If you have a newer Android, which uses the USB-C to charge, then you can use the opposite port for Sat Radio. Our device also allows a plug in/add-on USB-A port which is high speed charging/fast charging. Most vehicle USB ports don't have this high of charging capacity. Most know this because if you're using Maps on your phone and plugged into the factory USB, the phone doesn't charge and barely maintains the battery. Our unit would allow Maps and will charge at the same time.

Again, both devices whether you use ours or the other one, still must have an antenna added, either the magnetic one that comes with the SiriusXM model #SXV300 or you need to purchase the antenna from GM parts to get the factory one. We've had some of our installers get creative and put the magnetic antenna in the same housing as the factory antenna, so you won't see it.

The other factor with our unit is it is software driven as we use the same hardware for all brands, so in the event you get another vehicle that might not have Sat radio, our unit can be software updated to all other brands.

Doesn't look like the problem is changing anytime soon and I truly understand, but we make solutions to help and will continue to attempt to make our solution better if the radio configuration allows. Our latest device which won a SEMA award for the best mobile electronics device is where we're putting all of our engineering efforts. Another solution called SEER that we believe people will enjoy. If I can ever be of service, please feel free to contact me. I roll an 18 Silverado High Country and 18 Suburban, along with a 69 and 67 Chevy, I'm a Chevy fan!!!!

Its the consumers responsibility to verify the truck b4 purchase.....same goes with console issue on customs, yeah it sucks and probably should be there but still as a consumer you have the right to purchase any brand and or trim level you choose....mine didn't come with Sirius XM and first thought that came to me was damn!, I should have checked before I bought it.....I would have gladly paid the extra $1400 for conv 2 pkg for this and better infotainment system and few other goodies....I was researching RAM and then switched to GM but didn't look carefully enough but that was my fault...….I wouldn't just expect anything at all....

I almost got a custom TB but after reviewing what it offered it was a bad choice for me so I backed out, I needed a standard bed which was hard enough to locate as it is....but still 7 months later wish I did few things differently

I don't blame GM at all, I blame myself....they all have a window sticker that lists everything that comes with truck nd with internet there is no way you cant find anything you need to know about a vehicle....I just let it slip by and payment would barely change having the conv 2 pkg so well worth it imo

I just bought a 2019 Silverado RST and I just realized it does not have SiriusXM radio built in with it. Does anyone know of anyway to add it to the radio or jail break it to add it? I don’t want to have to buy a receiver from SiriusXM just so I can listen to it.
Interesting. My 19 RST has XM

Just bought a 2020 Silverado RST and same thing no Siriusxm. Disappointed. I have a 163 mile commute and changing staions every 10 minutes or when streaming running out of range constantly. Cmon GM get it together. We want siriusxm on our $50k vehicles.

When looking on lots, you need to verify that it has the Convenience II Package. I believe this adds the opening back window, the 120V outlet on right most port in center dash, Bose and Sirius XM among maybe some other things.

The actual head unit radios are different between Non-Convenience II and Convenience II. I've been looking on lots now to buy.

With a GMC, for example the Elevation model- I think you need to get the Preferred Package to get the same stuff.

oh man....   I'm ticked off about this... 4th Chevy and the 1st one since 2012 that didn't have a XM tuner... crazy... I asked the guy and he said I just needed to call XM... then right as I was leaving the other sales guy tells me there is no XM...???   it had the shark fin and the other guy implied it would have it.. I assumed it had the XM...sigh...    This is a pretty crud move by GM.. just put the XM tuner in ...
