4wd Shift actuator (new or old) not engaging, ground is good and dash lights on

Recommended Posts

It's a 2007.5 LMM. It isn't getting 12 V at the connector. I've checked the fuse in the engine compartment and have tried 2 different new actuators to rule that out. The manual 4wd switch wheel lights up for 2wd, 4H and 4L. The ground tests good as well. It also doesn't have the service 4wd message on the panel.

I am having the same problem with my 2005 Silverado 3500, however my 4wd service light is on. Can you hear the shift encoder motor working when you try to go in to 4wd? Also- I checked the control module under my dash- have you looked at that? mine appears good. My shift motor is working on the Transfer case, yet my actuator won't work. Does your light blink or is it solid when you switch between 2 and 4?

Shift motor is working.  The lights blink and then go solid as it did when it worked.  Wasn't aware of the control module under the dash.  Is it in the same place on this GMT900 as your 800?

I would think so. Mine was up under the dash..I just laid on my back with my head near the gas/brake pedal and looked up- it was on the right behind the bar code. It was a black box. I found a youtube video for mine- but I am thinking yours would be in the same place
