I love to go for a run following a good snowfall. I particularly like running in a snow squall or nice downpour, though thunderstorms are exciting, last time 12 miles in with 3 to go I got caught in a mean one and almost s*** my pants thinking I was not going to make it back. It was the fastest 3 miles of the run, I was completely wiped, in the very dark woods on a trail (yes, those 3 miles sucked). Coldest I ran in was about -2F.

Brisk walking is better for your knees and hips. For cardio use an exercise bike or ride one.
