question on homemade intake

I have a 2000 blazer sport w/ the 4.3 and I was thinking of making a homemade cold air intake. My question is, what do you do about the MAF?? I have seen numerous pictures of these homemade intakes and all are a straight peice of hose/pipe etc. Where are they putting the MAF and if mine is just different would it be hard to make a cold air intake for mine (integrating the MAF)

you need the maf, and it can be put anyway between the filter and the tb. Most people have it right after the filter.
