Rear seat stuck in up position

Recommended Posts

Today I raised the passenger side rear seat in my crew cab but when I went to let it back down it clunked and stopped a couple inches from the up position. I reached under to see if there were any latches or anything out of place, but found no reason for not lowering. I checked the position of the seat back while I was lowering the bottom but seemed normal. I repeated the process quite a few times before it finally didn't clunk and lowered. Has anyone experienced this?

Found this thread from 2017, my rear seat is stuck in the upright position! And his solution, I was able to fix it myself. There is a metal locking stop / cam that holds the seat in position. Just look at the opposite side while moving it up/down and you will notice the metal piece that i am talking about by the hinge. You need to use a flat blade screw driver and move the tab to lower the seat. and use a graphite lube or grease to lubricate the metal tab and work the seat up and down to get it working again...worked for me...sorry I can not take a picture of what I'm talking about. I hope this helps you!!
