The only thing that caught my attention here is that the teacher discount is $1245 more than active duty military and healthcare worker discount. We got $2,331 or for that.

thats the amount that comes off that truck when you configure it all in the teacher discount section on chevy website i believe the amounts are different on every price point going up and down depending on MSRP

I found it interesting. That's all. Just for kicks and giggles, let's do some math.

3576/61465=5.8% teacher discount. Number of full time teachers in the US = 3.2 million.

2331/58755=3.9% military discount. Number of full time US military personnel = 1.3 million.

Don't construe this as me advocating that one group should get preferential treatment over the other. After all, both groups get low pay and perform tough jobs. Just find it interesting from a business perspective that the larger group has the larger discount. In my pea-sized brain I think a business is looking to maximize profits, and therefore would give the smaller discount to the larger group. Chevy isn't required to give anybody a discount. I'm just looking at this analytically.

actually just did same truck on chevys website under military discount and 60075msrp miltary discount shows it brought down to 56624 and then 5000 consumer cash brings it down to 51624 so its the same for first responder discount and teacher discount not sure if there is a price difference depending on where you live or not but all discounts are equal when i just did all three also on the new trucks that are being delivered now so the one im getting since it is still in transit chevy has raised the price on sticker they are now charging 215 more for midnight package and now are charging 180 for lpo mud flaps other trucks that are on lots already that are exactly the same msrp is 60070 and the one i am getting is 61465 whats up with that

That's interesting. The numbers I used above were yours and mine. I wonder if geography is a factor. I'm currently in an area that has a very high density of military personnel.

As for the price difference for the exact same trucks, that's funky. I wonder what changed. Are the Z71 badges getting blacked on the fenders for that additional 215.

ya i dont know and the dealer was not sure why either since they have not got truck yet we will have to see when it gets here and its also weird that they cant track where the truck is or when it will arrive they said it should have been there already if you want to check what im saying use 15009 for zip code

They should be able to track your truck. My dealer was able to. And, when I asked what the truck had they were able to pull up an electronic copy of the window sticker. I wonder if your dealer isn't aware of what they're capable of.

I was also just wondering if the trim line and options affect the discount. I bought a Trail Boss LT with the 6.2.

Edit: never mind on the trim line question. You and I have similar trucks -- trail boss lt with 6.2 and well equipped.

Yeah, so Im looking at RST 3.0 with a MSRP of 59620.  Dealer knocking off 2963 and 5000 rebate for total of 51657.  Supposed to talk tomorrow, but not really thinking they will budge very much. They have to trade with another dealer for this truck, thinking I will talk, but probably have to wait until later in the year

I think you're right. With the low levels of new inventory across the country, most dealers aren't willing to deal aggressively beyond manufacturer rebates right now. Mainly because as soon as you walk out of the store, someone else is going to wander in and pay them because there's not much else out there to choose from. $8K off MSRP on an RST isn't horrible, but it's far from great, too.

This all depends on where you live, of course.

Getting ready to order a 19 denali, and was wondering what pricing owners have managed before taxes, or percent of msrp.

2020 Sierra AT4 6.2

MSRP 61,740

Paid 51,740

This dealer is lopping an even 10K from SLTs, AT4s and Denali.

My local dealer in Whitesboro TX Holiday Chevy has 8 3.0 RST all marked 10,571.00 off if your willing to make an 11-12 hour drive. I've purchased a few vehicles from them and it was always a fast transaction, they deal in volume more than profit per vehicle.

They can do better - they may just not want to.  I purchased my RST Z71 3.0 4 weeks ago.  I received $9500 off the sticker, which was exactly $60,000.  That was a $4500 dealer discount and the $5000 rebate.  I also received a very fair trade value on 2 older vehicles: a 2010 Toyota Tundra and a 2018 Subaru Forester.
