Resonators 2019 1500 Sierra

Recommended Posts

Modified the exhaust system on 2019 Sierra 1500 Denali by removing one of "butterfly" flaps exhaust side of muffler. Sounds great but at 65 mph the noise in cab is a bit much, especially for passengers. Did not remove resonators. Wondering if removing them would quiet the interior noise? Any thoughts, Thanks!

Removing the resonators would increase the noise.  Did you remove the muffler as well or just the butterfly?   Removing the butterfly should not have done much other than increased the noise when you go into deactivated cylinder mode.

Yes, I did replace the muffler with a Flomaster but the noise inside the cab was too much. The muffler shop suggested putting the stock muffler back on and remove the butterfly. What I am learning is it is referred to as exhaust drone. Learning as I go.....

There are several threads on here dealing with replacing the muffler and keeping from getting drone.  Most go with a different muffler than Flowmaster.  Magnaflow seems to be a popular choice.
