SO..... Anyone install a lift kit yet? Pictures Please

Recommended Posts

Hey guys - new to the board. All of 6 days in with my new SLT. I’ve been researching long before I bought the truck on lifts. Having trouble with one thing though...

Can the Sierra really clear a 35 with the 4” BDS lift? And a 37 with the 6” lift? I’ve seen lots of Silverados, but the wheel wells are a little different.

Obviously wheel and tire combo is a huge factor, but the BDS website seems to claim it can be done. I’d love to clear 35s with just a 4” bump. I’m coming off a Silverado on 38s, and I figure the older I get the less I can climb! LOL

See that’s the thing, it says 4” & 6” Coilover kits, so are those the tire sizes when running a 4” on an AT4, 6” on a non-AT4, etc.?? Sorry dude I’m so confused. Call me an idiot LoL!

EDIT: I now see that’s from the Sierra (non-AT4) selection. Thanks!

Ignore the video. That’s just a promotion for their coilovers. This was from the 6” lift page and those are the fitment specs for the 6” lift.

Yeah I don't exactly get it either. If it says you can clear 35x12.5 w/ 20x 9 and 5.5 to 6.25 backspacing and my stock 20's have 28mm offset, would they clear with 35's? Could I run a wheel spacer if not? Thanks in advance, never was good at math...

I’m currently running my stock 20’s on my 6” BDS coilover lift with 35x12.50 ridge grapplers. No rubbing or trimming. I think anything smaller than the 20 will not work according to BDS.

Sorry for not clarifying, they would clear with just the 4" lift?

Yours looks great! Are you running aftermarket UCA's? And what struts/coilovers? How do you like the ride. Thanks again for the knowledge.

I have called and spoken with BDS about prior builds and tire fitment... Give them a call and they will be more then happy to answer your questions... I’m getting ready to do the 4 inch lift on my TB which will actually be the same as a 6 inch lift, I’m hoping to run 37 tires but need to call them and ask them to a few questions first... Their tire list and offsets are confusing to me.. Best of luck my friend.. These trucks look so awesome lifted...

This is an old pic. I’m still on stock UCA but BDS did release theirs so...maybe.

I’m running the BDS Fox coilovers and I’m impressed with them. New to coilovers but they suck up the large pot holes and crappy roads pretty good.

Yessir that is the look right there. To each his own, but that looks like how they should come off the line. e

I am sure that is the look and looks very well done, but isn't my taste, lol.....cant believe people want that big and deep of a rim....its all rim and lil bit of truck

100% agree.

I would of gone BDS but don’t see the cost matching up with what you get. They are still running those trash 2.0’s in the rear... You get more bang for your buck with the FilthyMotorsports kits

Which shocks are you referring to? The BDS or the Fox? Just curious what your experience was because I have 18k miles on this kit and zero complaints.

FWIW my post was in reference to this truck not the other one lol but hey to each his own:

The 4" lift, stuffed 35's, and factory rims is the cleanest I have seen any of these trucks. Too much wheelwell and ride quality/performance loss with these other lifts IMO. But again, to each his own. Just hadn't seen anyone with a 4" lift on here until the past week or two...

I don't know if the wheel well for the Sierra's are different from the Silverado's, but you can run 35s with just a 4" BDS. I saw 4.5" of lift and have no rubbing issues and didn't have to trim. I did however go 35x11.5 and not the usual 35x12.5 but BDS claims you can clear them too. I just don't like too wide a tire. This is all on stock 20's of course. Hope that helps. This is the second time i go with a 4" lift; it's the ideal lift for me.

bds runs 2.0 fox rears in all their kits. Hit bumps of decent size at more than 30 mph and let me know... lol

front coilovers are fine. If I was getting a bds kit I’d wait till fox releases the new 2.5’s For 19-20 models instead of custom fitted 2.5’s from The 2007-2018 models. Also, they’ll be releasing their new 2.5 rears as well for the 19-20 year models (I’m assuming they’ll be an option in future bds kits... at least I hope so at the price point)

I have the BDS NX2 on my truck so Fox isn’t the only option. Fox is their “upgrade”. I live in south LA and we have terrible roads and I find the truck rides just like it did stock.
