I picked up my 2019 Sierra Denali 1500 on 2 November. The following week while breaking for a stop light a dash light flashed identifying service break assist system. Breaking became increasingly difficult. Dealer inspected and reset the system.

The day before Thanksgiving the infotainment screen goes black while pulling out of my driveway. Dealer replaced infotainment unit.

This evening the passenger mirror will not fold/unfold or adjust. Off to the dealer again.  Anyone else experience any of these issues?

Yep. We have a 2006 Honda Civic. Third in a series of Civics we bought new. The one was maybe the best car I've ever owned. The second was in fact nice but really built much cheaper and had some minor issues. This third one...

Rear upper control arms we poorly engineered. Honda first told us it was 'in spec' while eating tires at the rate of a set in 15K or less. By the sixth set and a 'factory fix' that was unpublished, aka not a safety recall I took it to Deegan's. My local guy and we installed a set of MOOG Problem Solver arms. I gave him specs for the alignment and this last set has been in service for 70K and looking good. In the middle of that fight she sprung a coolant leak into the crankcase that was fast enough to dump the radiator but slow enough to never raise the oil level. Took them a week to find it. Casting flaw between the oil separator and the bottom end. They gave us a new short block and sent us down the road with the transmission nearly empty. No damage thanks again to Deegan's garage. Now she's 12 years old and the clear coat has peeled off in sheets over the last six months. The two older ones that were pre-water-born still look pretty darn good. Now at 220,000 miles she is the car she should have been when it was delivered. I'll drive it another decade.

Point is, there are indeed some bad apples 'now and again' then there are some absolute engineering/bean counting/what the heck were you thinking stuff ups. ALL 2006 Civics are of this type. Time will tell on the 2019 GM Trucks, eh?

Poor engineering , bad product, sub-par service tech, bad part, it all plays a part in the overall picture of every product we buy.

And a warranty means nothing if the service to repair a warranty claim fails to fix the problem after repeated attempts.

none of this is helpful.  we are trying to see if anyone else is having these issues and compiling that data.  "you got a bad one"... is extremely unhelpful and gets the thread headed in the wrong direction.

alot of us are having the driver info center (DIC) screen going black.

I havent tried the mirrors much, I will cycle mine a few times and make sure they are working

what is the "Brake assist system"?

Perhaps a poll with comments disabled would provide the cold hard data that you are looking for.

well, no... Because then the person that has figured out the problem can't communicate that info. Is this not a troubleshooting board???

I suppose one of the poll questions could be: "Did you solve the problem".

Then you could contact the person via PM.

Another option would be to search through the forum for keywords that relate to the issues at hand. Anyone experiencing these types of issues would likely reach out.

You could also go to a local Chevy dealer, and strike up a conversation with the service department, and inquire about the frequency of these issues. If worded properly, they may answer your questions. The parts department would be a good resource as well, as they would be less evasive to the questions, and have more easily accessible records.

Just trying to brainstorm ideas for ya.

Your post asks if others are having this problem.

My point was if others are having this problem it's a warranty issue fixed by the dealer.

So what useful data are you going to get unless you are going to fix the problem yourself.

My other point was some vehicles are problems from the start and the warranty is only as good as the dealers ability to repair it.

I also said Good Luck.

Want a better result? Ask a better question. Dyier2 answered your question EXACTLY as you asked it

It's all helpful if you compile it all and put it into the right areas of concern. You say "a lot of us are having the driver info center (DIC) screen going blank", I assume you got this from more than just this particular thread? Not slamming you at all but sometimes even perceived worthless information is in fact useful. Mirrors go out on any vehicle line-up that has the powered option, every single manufacturer has mirrors fail, some really quickly and some not so fast or not at all but there is no 100% non-fail on any manufacturer. That brake assist notice should probably be looked at the 2019 uses electronic-hydro braking not the vacuum pump anymore.

Now I really hate to say this but there simply isn't enough end-user data to identify failure trends...GM is using you as their real world R&D.

Hi, Jason. This isn’t the experience we want our customers to have, especially so early into your vehicle ownership. Feel free to send us a private message, if you’d like us to take a look into your situation.
