Noise in cabin or am I going crazy?

Thanks for the info.

I did see that thread yesterday in doing research. The '19s are so new there is little if any info on them yet so I was looking at the previous gen trucks.

I don't plan on pulling any fuse having to do with the crankshaft nor am I cutting any wires. I'll let the dealer handle it.

And yes, that rpm range is when I usually hear the noise.

I don't blame you! On the 2018, that wire is just a replicator signal wire and doesn't do anything but transfer a signal to the ANC system, I wouldn't be cutting anything on a 2019! I only did it after many other guinea pigs found the "fix", LOL. I really was adding it to show that the ANC (at least in ours) uses more than the Infotainment to work.

Is it the heater blower? Mine (2013) has made a noise since the day I bought it intermittently. below the dash right side.

I've got it too. Sounds like an ear test tone. Very high frequency. Comes and goes at different speeds. Not sure if it increases with acceleration. Very hard to get a handle on it.

I'm pretty sure its got something to do with the ANC. I'm going to figure out a way to disable the amp and test it out.

This sounds very similar to the high pitched squeak/sound that the K2 (2014-2018) trucks have. There is a lot of info on this over in the K2 forum. I believe it was a 4X4 module under the dash. There was no solution to my knowledge but some owners insulated the module with sound dampening material or foam to mask the source of the sound.

The sound only happens when in 4AUTO so if your sound still happens in 2WD then it's a different sound.

Mine is present in 4Auto and 2WD. It sounds like it’s coming from the back drivers side of the cab. So I don’t think it’s that.

I have another thought on this. I'm sort of thinking its the Fuel Pump in the tank. If you stand outside the truck and hit the unlock button on the key fob you should hear it kick on. Can someone that hears this in the cab do this and see if it sound like a similar noise?

Well little update, The dealer was not really any help. The only thing coming from GM is some type of noise from the PCV that engineering is working on. I swear that this sound is coming from the ANC system. It is very annoying and would like a fix if anyone has one. It makes me not want to drive the vehicle.

I'll join the club. I notice it mainly during light throttle. It stops if i accelerate faster or let off the pedal. I've only driven it in 2wd. Maybe it's when cylinders are deactivating?

Just a thought...try temporarily putting a piece of tape over the interior microphones, they (at least in the 18) work in conjunction with the crankshaft replicator signal input for the ANC. See if there is any difference with the microphones covered. On mine there is rear microphone too.

I posted this over a week ago and it seems nobody has tried it yet or if they did decided not to post any results. IF it did help/change/eliminate then let others know...IF it did nothing let others know! Not much worse than a strange noise, especially if you're alone and can't try to isolate it. If the taped over microphones have no effect, I doubt it is the ANC system. I am interested in the 2019...I have the 2018 but my girlfriend is looking to UPGRADE her Furd

I am not sure if this is the same but I just picked up my Trail Boss. No noise when test driving but the next day in the morning. I noticed it from the left side of the dash towards the 4x4 controls but too high pitched to isolate area. Tried to ignore but become more irritating with time. I did notice it would change pitch when changing throttle at highway speed. Tried to ignore it but then I though might be the AC/Heater fan or design of the venting (sharp angle or leak/gap). Turned off the AC/Heater and it stopped. Turned back on and it came back. I closed the left vent and the pitch stopped. Switched to lower vents - no noise. Switched to lower and dash - no noise. Switched back to dash and it came back. I found by adjusting all four dash vents I could position them just so the noise never came back.

Might not be the same as you guys but I am convinced my issue is fan, sharp angle in HVAC path or a leak/gap. Only had it for a day so I will keep playing with it to validate this theory and to better isolate my root cause.

It would help if others that have this problem tried this test and post comments-

1) Fan on (AC or Heat)

2) Drive at high way speed

3) Hear noise

4) Close left driver dash vent or switch to lower vents

Any change?
