AT4 RC Leveling Kit

Recommended Posts

FYI, the Rough Country 2" leveling kit (sku# 1307) will not work on the 2019 AT4.  Their site only says it will work for a 2019 4x4 Sierra, but once I called in with the issue they said its not for the AT4.  The level mounts under the shock and once/if full flexed the 4x4 drive shaft will make contact with the shock bolt.  As of now RC does not have a level kit for the AT4.  Dont make the same mistake I did, oh but it looks great leveled.  Ill be taking it off ASAP once another level comes out.

There is a lot more in the AT4 kit than I thought there would be. Only GM would throw special half shafts in a 2” kit...

With some of the other info leaking from GM like the TSB for detecting ecu mods or the programming required for an air cleaner I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t purposely design this kit to make it incompatible with leveling kits.

1.  There are 2 bolts on the lower shock that go through the lower shock mount, then through the leveler and then the lower control arm.  I'm assuming the contact is occurring with the "forward" lower shock mounting bolt?

2.  Would you have enough clearance if you used a 1.5" level kit as sold on ebay for $10?  This would give you an extra 0.5".

TIA

Rick

P.S.  I'm aware of the potential problems with steering and ball joint angles installing a leveling kit on an AT4/TB.

Its the rear bolt that the 4x4 drive shaft comes to rest on when the front tires are fully extended (off the ground).  I am switching the leveling kit out with a top shock spacer from Motofab.  I should have this done by next weekend.  Ill report back.  From all the videos I have watched showing the RC level kit install, it seems the 4x4 drive shaft is much closer to the shock then before, any spacer on the bottom of the shock is going to be an issue.  Spacers for the new model need to go on top the shock to give the 4x4 drive shaft its space.

Any luck?

I ended up reducing the amount of threads  going above the shock by adding more washers to the bolt, works for now and no contact when fully extended(hairline clearance)  This is a temp fix until someone comes out with something.  This is what I am seeing, GMC added 2inch lift in front (spring) then I came along and added another 2inch to level it.  The upper control arm and joint are looking maxed out, not sure about the steering rode from when it was realigned. Even if or when I find a fix for the 4x4 shaft not contacting the shock bolt, I have the upper control arm at its limit.  I'm holding off for now bc its already aligned and I am planning on bigger tires by summer, so Ill either go back to factory and get another alignment before the new tires or find and install what ever AT4 leveling kit that ends up comping out.  A good level for the AT4 should address the upper control arm issue also.
