You may very well be fine with that late of a build. GM knew there was an issue for some time before that.

 

That said, I have a US built 10/14/18 truck and I haven’t had any leaks. I’ve been watching it like a hawk, but I’ve taken it through at least 20 high pressure washes and no problem. I’m sure it’s still a somewhat isolated issue but concerning for sure.

I asked the dealer for a build sheet, it lists all RPO codes and other info. I couldn't find it on the truck anywhere

The trail boss I am buying has a couple dates listed late August 2018. Vin 107xxx. I looked at the back seat on the final test drive the other day and didn't notice any signs of water. It has been sitting on the lot for 6 months I am sure if it was going to leak it would have by now.

There's a sticker on the drivers door jamb, at least on my 2018 there is.  Mine shows a build date of 11/18 top left of sticker and a bunch of other numbers and info

Build Date Aug 2019. Dozen handwashes, Dozen power washes, couple of heavy rails, no leaking. Light rain most of the day today and a little leaking on the passenger side. Vehicle built

at Fort Wayne.

Mine was a 9/18 build.  Just like yours, mine only seemed to leak after a long light rain.

They replaced the window on mine

Correction Procedure [GM Bulletin 18-NA-383]

        This Bulletin applies to Vehicles built before Oct 1 2018. We did have a user report Headliner Damage

                               with a Build Date of 1/27/2019.

        Contact the Dealership

       If the Headliner was damaged due to water, the front windshield must be removed for headliner re-installation

                 Allows the Headliner to be inserted thru the windshield for installation

       If the window must be removed, the rear seats will be removed for the process.
        Inspect seating and carpet for dampness and mold and have them replaced. Seats might be a stretch.

        Inspect the paint around the window to insure it is not damaged or chipped

        Inspect Trim in the back around the window to ensure no damage

        Take pics of the outside and inside for future reference and compare to the "after the work"

        So the Dealership will attempt the following  3 procedures. 

            Contact Chevy Customer Care and lodge a complaint to get it on the record. Use Chat to keep a record of the convo.

            If need be, send email to a higher up GM Exec which in turn will cause the GM Executive Service Rep to make contact some how.

                   Fish_Guru reached out to the VP at GM and did get a response back. I did the same when I needed a front bumper. So they do

                   followup on complaints. But ensure you follow contacting the Dealership, Chevy Customer Care, state your problem and be

                   COURTESY.

                       1 Pull down Headliner to allow removal of Spoiler. place new sealant on the top edge of the window and check leaks after everything is back together or
                       2 Inspect Window for Sealant crack and clean the old sealant off the window and body and reapply sealant and install window or
                       3 Inspect Window for upper rail cracking and obtain a new window and  reapply sealant and install window

        Try to have all the parts needed on hand and a plan of attack to minimize how many times [once hopefully] they have to perform surgery on the vehicle

       

Know your Auto Lemon Laws for your State [Example Michigan]

 

        The law applies to privately owned passenger vehicles and those leased after January 1, 2000, used for personal, family or household purposes. 
        Some business-type vehicles may also be covered. The law does not apply to larger trucks, motor homes, motorcycles, or off-road vehicles.

        A defective vehicle is one in which the same problem has not been repaired after four attempts, or a vehicle that is out of service 30 days or more for repairs. 
        The first report of the defect must be made within one year from the date of delivery to the original purchaser or lessee or during the term of the 
        manufacturer's warranty, whichever period is shorter.

        If the vehicle you purchase is defective, you may be entitled under state law to replacement of it or a refund of the cost of the lease. 
        To obtain replacement or refund, you must first report the defect in writing to the manufacturer and you may be required to first arbitrate the dispute.

        In order to protect your rights under Michigan's Lemon Law, follow these steps:

        Keep copies of all correspondence to and from the manufacturer and the dealer.
         Keep copies of all work orders for repairs on the vehicle, including the date(s) the work was performed and the mileage on the vehicle at the time of the repair(s).
         Follow all requirements of the warranty, including any requirement that the repairs must be done by an authorized dealer specified by the manufacturer.

Actions.
     Make notes, take pics of interior and exterior. 
     Contact Dealership and find out the determination
     Based on decision [should be replace the glass], Contact Chevy Customer Care and/or GM VP Barry Engle
     Try to minimize how many times they have to take truck apart. Hopefully get all the parts needed together so the surgery can
            be done in a timely manner.
      Find out the procedure, ie what does it take to replace window? Do they need to take the headliner out? Windshield out due to headliner?

 

 
So not a single LT or RST with a leak on this forum?

I've been smelling mildew in mine. Haven't found any water until now. It rained last night. Water sitting on the rear window, and a puddle of water down below the rear seat back. They better replace all the carpet and padding that got wet. It's not going to go well for them if I continue to smell mildew.

Sad thing is I knew from the beginning it had a leak. The night I bought the truck, it had condensation on the inside of the windshield. Salesman just said it probably got wet when they were cleaning it. And I didn't trust my gut.eaec9cd39819afec8ae24483f2b66c47.jpg

Well got my truck back Thursday afternoon. Got same old we got everything fixed and you are good. They said they checked the carpet and seat and said that nothing was wet and no issues, but i am doubtful on that. They said not to wash the truck for 24hrs or more and I decided I would give it 48 hrs just to make sure the sealant had time to dry. Saturday about noon we had a very light sprinkle and I decided that would be a good test and went out and water was all over the seat and down in the floor board. After some further inspection it looks like clear caulk was used. Not sure if the sealant GM wanted to be used is clear, but the one that was used looks clear to me from what I can see. Now I get to take my truck back again Monday and this time I am going to request the rear window to be removed and all the sealant removed and new sealant and window installed. I really can't believe that we are having this issue, pretty sad a the quality control has dropped at chevrolet like most manufacturers and then the dealers can't or won't deal with the issue.

I've mentioned this before but make sure you inspect your truck when you get it back BEFORE you drive off.

 

If they remove that rear window the back seats have to come out. My truck had a gouged interior kick panel, 2 loose screws rolling around and some minor paint chips around the back glass.

 

Thankfully my dealer made it right after I raised hell.
