Rear window leak

I was called by the dealer yesterday and will be picking my truck up 4/23. They also advised the stains on the headliner were cleaned and are gone.

On a side note to test the seals should I just run a hose on the roof for a few minutes?

I found mine by hosing down the rear of the roof where it meets the spoiler and the top of the glass right under the spoiler.

Same here. Just ran the garden hose on the roof and sprayed down the top of rear glass just like you would if you were washing car. I also would not assume the dealer actually water tested it first. Mine didn't and it leaked all over when I got home and ran a hose on it for 20 seconds. Good luck hope the got yours fixed on the first try.

Ok so I picked up my truck today. The service advisor said they checked everything cleaned the headliner and water tested the truck.

I came home and ran a garden hose on it for 30-45 seconds and guess what??

WATER LEAKING INSIDE THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW!

it's not as bad as before but come on man..

Well if it makes you feel any better you are not alone. Time to escalate to service manager and gm district rep

Well this journey didn't start well, but I think it ended well. On day 23 I picked up my truck on the way home. It was spotless on the inside and out. I could not tell they had the front window out and headliner replaced. I could tell they shampooed the carpets as it had that faint smell of carpet shampoo that hopefully will go away in a few days of driving with the windows down.

It was pouring rain when I picked it up, and I was out standing in the rain when I got home soaking it for 10 minutes with a hose. No leaks. Although my f150 neighbors must really think I'm nuts with 5 trucks in 4 weeks and I'm standing in the rain in my dress shoes soaking my truck with a hose.

I received separate phone calls from gm customer care, the service manager, and my sales consultant to make sure everything was ok.

I have to say after driving in a regular LT for 3 weeks, I am really glad I bought the trail boss. The Bose radio alone is worth the upgrade.

I still have my doubts long term but I am going to keep a positive outlook and try to enjoy my "new" truck.

I am excited to put this behind me and hope everyone else gets their trucks squared away.cdc528781884465ee430ab4b6282f4d1.jpg

Really happy to hear that. I check this thread every night hoping to hear an outcome like this. Way to stick in there.

Enjoy it now.

Glad it worked out for you. My experience has been totally different. The service department at my dealer is full of retards. At least the ones that have touched my truck. They have been fighting me every step of the way, with the exception of the general manager. But I question his motives at this point. Whether or not he's really on my side. I still have yet to speak to the area rep personally, which I requested awhile ago.

Did they replace the window or just seal it better with sealant? Glad to hear there's no leaks.

The front window was removed and reinstalled to get new headliner in. The rear window had cracks that I verified, but they followed the gm bulletin to caulk it with sealant. First time still leaked, second time it stopped leaking so gm would not authorize replacing the window unless it starts leaking again.

I just dropped mine off today for water. I have a Denali with the rear sliding glass, built 9/18 at Ft Wayne. I have 7,500 miles on it. Thanks to this forum, i was frequently checking. I caught it early so the headliner looks fine and i put towels along the back seats to keep water from getting to the carpet.f67d84f3b074206b86a15bff2d8d6eff.jpg

Make sure you print that TSB out and bring it with you. And make sure they test it with a hose real good after 24 hours to make sure no leaks before you bring it home. Strange that you had that many miles and it just started leaking now?

I never saw any water until I hit 4900 miles on mine, and even then it was super minor, little run down the inside of the glass, nothing like others have reported with wet headliners and water on seats. I'll be picking it up today, I stopped in this morning ad they had it apart so I won't test it tonight so I let the sealant dry, I'll test tomorrow night. I run mine through the automatic car was at minimum of 2 times a week and up to 4 times a week and have never seen any water up until 2 weeks ago.
