2015 Silverado with HUD retrofit/upgrade.

Sweet. Cant wait. Do you think the HUD would still show up on a standard windshield? I do have my windshield tinted so maybe that might make a difference. I also have to talk to Chris to see if I did the HUD enable on my cluster. For some reason, I dont think I did...

I finally found someone to work with me on fabricating the Sierra/Silverado instrument hood. The fabricator set up an appointment with me for early next week. I will let you know how it goes

Just wondering what this thing was, so just wondering as far as addding the hud is it just adding the harness from the cluster to the hud? Or what?

I think thats the warning light for the collision warning system.

And there is a control head for the HUD as well.

That is the first guy rookie mistake.

I cut the hood for the forward collision alert system. The High Country has a separate wire and light for the forward collision alert. Now I know the HUD will do that. That will not be on the future hoods.

The HUD reflection will show up on the regular windshield. It will be a little blurry and show double information. But it will work. The tint on the lower part of the windshield will solve that problem.

Ohhh ok so since i have LT and they don’t have that collision warning would I have to have that aswell? Just questioning trying to get familiar with this

You should be good. When the HUD is installed. It will come in the HUD unit.

Correct the FCA in the hud is an icon/ warning that takes over the screen. That being said if you don’t have FCA right now this will not add it but the hud will work just fine.

GTPprix, for some reason when we did the cluster for me, I dont think we did the HUD enable. Any way to check, or would I have to ship the cluster to you so it can be enabled.

It would show as an option on your order :)

Hey guys, I’m sorry if I haven’t responded to your messages. As some of you know the truck
I did this HUD retrofit was stolen and I was a little sad about everything I’ve done to it.. fortunately I was able to purchase another almost exactly the same [emoji4]. I’ve been working little by little on my new truck, and one of my latest upgrades was the Denali cluster with HUD enabled. I have a new HUD, HUD controls/switches.
The exciting news is that I’ll be working on is a new approach where we won’t have to mess with sun visor or manufacture one. Making it more OEM look.
Here’s a few pics.

I would go with Viktorrocks15 way of doing it . He is the one who built the first instrument hood for me.

Viktorrocks15 keep me informed on how your project is going

I may consider redoing my dashboard. Depending on how your turns out.
