gutlessTahoe
I have a 99 Tahoe with the 5.7L Vortec. It seems like the heads are pretty restrictive so should I get the GM Fast Burn heads pr extrude hone the stock ones?
Wingnut
Save the money, and do the ones you have. They will flow very well. Just my .
gutlessTahoe
Is it the heads that are restrictive or the intake manifold? I just seen a post saying the intake manifold is horrible on the 5.7L
CMNTMXR81
Intake. Those heads a hot rodders dream. For the price anyway. They're like a jack of all trades head because they flow, tumble swirl and scavenge good. Maybe not as much as a costly set of Trick Flow's, Dart's or what not, but more than sufficient for most applications. I think Edelbrock makes an intake that specifically fits the bolt pattern on the Vortec heads.
Tucson_02Silverado
Ditto with CMT...The L31 heads outflow the L98 TPI (Vette) and when larger valves are machined in will flow on par with the LT4 heads.
