GM dropped the ball

I fairly certain GM has a pretty good understanding of how to ramp production, lower inventory on existing models and deliver the required initial order demand to customers.  Probably close to 4000qty with GMC/Buick and Chevrolet dealers to every far reaching town and city in USA?  Really, takes time I have dealer 1qty near me that has 200-300qty truck inventory all year?  Give it another couple weeks ladies.............

Jim, I live in the DFW area... I have spotted 2 by my house in Aubrey

a White trail boss and an ugly dark green LT basic truck. Mine is a black LTZ that I hopefully will be picking up any day now from Classic in Grapevine

Cool! I’m in Fort Worth and would assume I’d see at least one or two during my commute...alas not a single one yet...congrats, by the way...

one of the dealers in my area told me they havent started selling their 2019 inventory cause they are waiting on adapters for their lifts in the service dept. apparently needed because of the new body. they dont want to sell trucks they cant actually service.

It seems to me the only trucks I've seen on the lots around here are the Sierra Denali and SLTs. I've not seen any Chevy models yet But, I haven't been looking that hard. The meat of the GMC and Chevy sales are the LT and SLE trucks. I have not seen any of those. When they hit the lots you will see more on the roads.

It really depends on location.  I am in Macomb, MI and my dealer has 66 in stock on their website right now and I know that it is accurate as I have seen them lined up in their lot.  I also see about 5-6 a day(both Chevy/GMC) driving on the road.

That is good to hear.  I see a dozen or more testing every time I drive down Van Dyke.  66 in stock!  wow.

I’m in the Pittsburgh area, my Chevy dealer has 10 or 12 on the lot. Decent spread too, I believe they have a High Country, a couple LTZ’s , RST’s and LT’s. Only one TraiBoss, that was mine.

One 2019 Silverado and one 2019 Sierra just showed up last night at my dealer. I must say, nicer looking in person but I still prefer the K2 in the looks department. GMC looks a lot better this generation than the Silverado, as it did the last generation, and the gen. before than. In my personal opinion of course ;)

In Canada we are always at the tail end of new arrivals. My local dealer has 3 2019 trucks! I am sure they are building them as fast as possible but what also pisses me off is the websites. In todays world people shop on the internet. The GM techs need to have a fire lit under their azzes. The GM websites are pathetically slow for getting new models up with Build and Price and all the shopping tools. and when you send an email questioning them on it you get some BS answer back.

Most of us here, thanks to Zane and staff know as much about these trucks as anybody.

GM and Ford trucks have and are still taking their products for granted even in todays competitive market.

They are both fast asleep at the wheel when it comes to market advertising. RAM however is not.

They have been on the gas since the Super Bowl commercials aired.

Still NO 2019 Silverado or Sierra Commercial out and trucks are being sold on lots.

Makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE other than Ego and resting on laurels that plenty of trucks will sell to "loyal" brand owners.

What they miss is the fact that "independent" potential new truck buyers research every brand and are leaning towards RAM.

I think the round fender wells on the Silverado look better than the sim card fenders in the Sierra though.

I do recall GM did say the initial rollout would be lower numbers and would ramp up in 1st and second quarter of 2019. They anticipated would impact overall sales. While they did not say it was like Ford when they rolled out the aluminum body F 150 was going to delay in shipments until the tooling and other related areas to that new design and they ramped up production of the existing steel bodied F 150 but sounded very much the same as tthat. I cannot find the link right now and not going into a keyboard debate. One can believe it or not. The initial 1500 GM twins are down in sales yes and last month Ram was number two spot and I believe they may indeed continue winning . Here in Jacksonville, Fla i have seen alot of 2019 Rams on the road and delear lots. Gm dealers just a few 2019. Once GM hits full production could be closer. I'm not brand loyal but have

more GM trucks owned but...Ram interior and ride with 2019 is impressive. I have 2014 Denali with 6.2 and that is a gem of a engine but the interior of the 2019 GM twins not impressed. Now the 5.7 Ram hemi is okay but not a 6.2 league. Can find + and - on every brand out there. For me, love the exterior look of my Denali but cannot see it from the drivers seat and for me, the ram is likely my next purchase. That interior is the best and the ride is every bit if not a little better than my Denali is but of course 5 years newer the Ram should be.

Yeah, not a fan of the wheel wells on either model, but then again i was freaking out when the square ones debuted in 2007.5

I just simply can't get over the Silverado's front fender line, it's just...not...right???
