So It's been a little while since I've had a truck and I got the fever. So I did what most people in my business do ,"i'm a body / paint Tech", I searched for a "rebuildable".

Normally it's easy to find a GMC or Chevy truck, but I was looking for a standard cab short bed. What made the search even more challenging was adding a 5.3L as

one of the must haves. They are a little scarce and when you add to that, finding one that has been salvaged......well lets just say I gave up on 4x4 as a must have

and chose whatever I could successfully win a bidding war on. After dropping out of several bidding wars I found a truck that I thought was worth ordering another

inspection on. When the inspector sent me the report ,I felt like this was the one I had to stay in the game on. Only 33k miles, Black, already lowered, and 22

inch wheels. It was a Flooded truck, but I have a good friend and master tech here that I work with, who repairs flood vehicles daily so I felt confident I could come out

ahead of the game. I called my salvage contact and gave him the go ahead with a max bid. Well It reached that Max bid and that is where it stopped! I won the auction.

Now we already knew it was a "no start", so we surmised  that the body module was probably bad from the water damage. Give  Here's a link to the first video of my journey

of building a supercharged sport truck out of a salvage one. I will cover changing the headlights and front end to a 2016 LED and whats involved, and more. Click the picture for video.

Thanks

Working on the body. I started with the worst first. The bed was rough. I put a bedside in and worked the other. The tailgate just needed a little prep. 8b9d7b46686e97cb8e9d1b51603eb660.jpgb83d0f81c316e6ce7d0e0975da3c0299.jpg39d76577d2dc6dd1e8b8eb3d5e3309fb.jpg1e67f2e703bb0fcaa08bc3bf8e409bf1.jpg260ad86564d7a486665e26f2c8848b0c.jpgf220c1c0e24e984f2e96f2deb55d1d3e.jpg22c02fd72f2f789d43d722104fc77bd1.jpg8edd8c7abcf09177d2d6c12f9b9c5341.jpg01238669eec56798a3922549586fc068.jpg6e74179eb33109c7b6cc0169c0c801d0.jpg

An easier way is just buying the 2014 all terrain bumper. But that work looks great!

I did a few other mods ,like smoothing out the textured plastic trim, and mirrors. I upgraded the mirrors with help from PGAMBOA. Super great guy to work with.

I also upgraded the Headlights to 2016 LED's . I'll try to detail what all I had to do to get that done in a video soon.
